Remembering Sir Patrick Stewart: A True Champion for Animals

The world has lost not only a legendary actor, but also a compassionate voice for animals.

Sir Patrick Stewart was beloved by millions for his unforgettable roles, but to those of us in animal welfare, one of his greatest roles was being an advocate for rescue dogs, especially pit bulls.

Through his love of fostering, he helped challenge unfair stereotypes, encouraged adoption, and showed the world that dogs so often misunderstood are deserving of kindness, patience, and love.

His advocacy was a beautiful reminder that fame can be used for something far greater than entertainment — it can give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.

From all of us at Stratford Animal Care & Control, thank you, Sir Patrick, for using your platform to make a difference in the lives of animals.

Rest in peace, Sir Patrick Stewart. Your compassion and legacy will live on in every animal given a second chance.

BREAKING NEWS: PURPLE MONSTER ATTACKS STRATFORD ANIMAL SHELTER!

In a horrifying turn of events, a mysterious purple monster was spotted roaming the halls of Stratford Animal Care & Control today.

Its target? Poor, unsuspecting Sylvester.

Witnesses report that Sylvester was simply minding his own business when the fuzzy purple beast decided he looked like an excellent afternoon snack.

Before anyone could intervene, Sylvester was being shoved into the monster’s enormous mouth!

Fortunately, Sylvester survived the terrifying ordeal and is reportedly considering legal action, demanding unlimited treats, and requesting that management review its hiring practices.

The monster remains at large and is believed to be extremely dangerous to cats, common sense, and anyone wearing a straight face.

Sylvester is now seeking a forever home, preferably one with absolutely NO PURPLE MONSTERS! He would appreciate a loving family, plenty of treats, and a written guarantee that he will never again be mistaken for lunch.

Interested in adopting Sylvester? Apply here:

DISCLAIMER: No cats were hurt in the making of this video. Sylvester’s dignity, however, may never recover.

Just another perfectly normal day at Stratford Animal Care & Control. We promise we’re a professional organization. Most of the time.

Meet Clyde – 8 Months Old and Already a Professional Lounger!

Some cats sit politely. Some cats curl up in little balls. And then there’s Clyde, who looks like he just finished a 60-hour workweek, paid the mortgage, and needs everyone to leave him alone while he enjoys his weekend.

At just 8 months old, Clyde has already mastered the art of lounging like a middle-aged man on vacation. Legs stretched out, paws dangling, belly on display, and absolutely zero concern about being productive.

We’re pretty sure he thinks the shelter is an all-inclusive resort, complete with room service, housekeeping, and a staff dedicated to meeting his every need.

Unfortunately for Clyde, management has informed him that his complimentary stay is coming to an end, and it’s time to find a permanent residence.

Clyde is approximately 8 months old, neutered, vaccinated, negative for disease, and microchipped. He’s handsome, ridiculously photogenic, and clearly knows how to make himself comfortable.

We’re looking for someone willing to provide Clyde with a lifetime of love, a comfortable couch, and absolutely no expectations of him getting a job.

Think you can handle this level of relaxation?

Please share! Clyde would do it himself, but he’s currently very busy doing absolutely nothing.

Meet Bonnie – A Little Shy, A Lot of Sweet!

At just 8 months old, Bonnie is a beautiful little tuxedo girl with big golden eyes, adorable white mittens, and a face that could melt your heart!

Bonnie is a little shy when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you. Underneath that timid exterior is a sweet, friendly kitten just waiting for someone to give her a chance.

She may not be the first cat to run up and demand your attention, but sometimes the most rewarding friendships are the ones that take a little patience to blossom.

Bonnie is approximately 8 months old, spayed, vaccinated, negative for disease, and microchipped. She’s all dressed up in her finest tuxedo and ready to find her forever home!

Could you be the one to help Bonnie come out of her shell?

FIONA GOT HER HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

Sometimes, the happiest endings begin with the hardest chapters.

When Fiona came into our care, she needed emergency, lifesaving surgery for a serious infection called pyometra. Her future was uncertain, but thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to get her the medical care she desperately needed.

Fiona fought her way back to health, and today, we’re thrilled to share that our sweet girl has been ADOPTED!

No more uncertainty. No more worrying about what tomorrow will bring. Just a lifetime of love, comfort, and a family to call her own.

To everyone who donated toward Fiona’s surgery, shared her story, attended our fundraisers, or supported our shelter in any way, this happy ending belongs to you, too.

We simply could not save animals like Fiona without you. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us give another deserving animal a second chance.

From fighting for her life to living her very best life. Fiona, you deserve every bit of happiness coming your way.

Happy tails, sweet girl. Your happily ever after starts now.

With love and gratitude,
Stratford Animal Care & Control and STARS

BREAKING NEWS: NOTORIOUS JAILBIRD CHUCKY SEEKS EARLY RELEASE!

After serving an outrageously long sentence at Stratford Animal Care & Control, repeat offender Chucky has finally agreed to cooperate with authorities in exchange for a forever home.

Name: Chucky
Alias: The Chuckmeister General, Inmate
Age: Approximately 2 years
Charges: Excessive Handsomeness, Possession of an Illegal Amount of Cuteness, Aggravated Toy Possession, and Being Criminally Overlooked.

Time Served: WAY TOO LONG!

Chucky was recently photographed in his prison-issued striped jumpsuit, apparently enjoying some recreational yard time. When questioned about his criminal history, he stuck his tongue out at investigators and refused to comment.

Authorities report that Chucky is neutered, has a wonderful personality, and has been patiently waiting for someone to post his bail. His only real offense? Being a big, lovable goofball who hasn’t found his person yet.

CONDITIONS OF PAROLE:

* Must be released into a loving forever home.
* Would prefer to be the only four-legged criminal in the household.
* Must receive regular treats, belly rubs, and recreational outings.
* Must never be returned to solitary confinement (also known as shelter life).
* Must be loved unconditionally for the remainder of his natural life.

Chucky has served his time. He’s paid his debt to society. And frankly, he’s getting tired of the prison food and the lack of room service.

WE ARE REQUESTING IMMEDIATE RELEASE ON GOOD BEHAVIOR!

All he needs is one person willing to look beyond the bars and give him the life he deserves.

Interested in posting Chucky’s bail?

Apply to adopt through Stratford Animal Care & Control:

https://www.stratfordct.gov/o/stratford/page/animal-adoption

Dog meet-and-greets are available by appointment seven days a week.

Please share Chucky’s mugshots far and wide. This handsome jailbird deserves a life sentence of love, not another day behind bars!

MEET PARIS: HER ROYAL HIGHNESS, QUEEN OF THE CATTERY!

Please share! Paris is accepting applications for a new kingdom. And by kingdom, we mean your house. Which, of course, will immediately become HER house.

Paris is approximately 4 years old, absolutely gorgeous, and has a personality that could fill an entire palace.

When Paris first arrived, she hated everyone. Staff, volunteers, visitors, probably the cleaning supplies. If you had a pulse, you were on her list of enemies.

But we’re happy to report that Paris has made tremendous progress! After much patience, love, and what we can only assume was a very lengthy meeting with her public relations team, Paris has decided that people aren’t completely terrible.

She now only hates everyone occasionally.

We call that growth.

Paris has appointed herself Queen of the Cattery, a position nobody voted for and absolutely nobody is brave enough to challenge. She oversees daily operations from her throne, judges everyone who enters her kingdom, and reserves the right to change her opinion of you without notice.

Her hobbies include:

* Looking beautiful while doing absolutely nothing.
* Supervising the peasants (our volunteers).
* Accepting affection when HER schedule permits.
* Giving disapproving looks for no apparent reason.
* Reminding everyone that she is in charge.

Despite her occasional royal attitude, Paris has come an incredibly long way, and underneath that tough exterior is a kitty who is learning that love and kindness aren’t so bad after all.

Paris is spayed, vaccinated, negative for disease, and microchipped. She’s ready to find a loyal subject who appreciates a strong, independent woman with boundaries, opinions, and absolutely no interest in your nonsense.

Paris isn’t looking for an owner. She’s looking for staff.

And if you’re lucky enough to earn her approval, you just might get to live happily ever after in her kingdom.
