The Town of Stuart is Hiring — Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Evening Shift)
Like hands-on work that matters? Our wastewater treatment plant protects the South Mayo River and keeps Stuart running, and we’re looking for a full-time operator for the evening shift.
No license? No problem. As an Operator-in-Training you’ll be paid while you learn, and the Town pays your training and licensing fees. Already licensed? Your starting pay reflects your license and experience.
Starting pay: $18.00–$20.00/hour for an Operator-in-Training, based on experience; higher for licensed operators. Benefits include Town-paid employee health insurance, Virginia Retirement System (VRS) membership, twelve paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, and overtime and holiday premium pay.
What we’re looking for: a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, mechanical aptitude, and someone dependable who can work 3–11 p.m. on weekdays, about one weekend a month, and share holidays and call-outs.
How to apply: download the announcement and application at the link below or pick one up at the Town Office, and send it with three references to [email protected] or to Town of Stuart, Attn: Town Manager, 100 Patrick Avenue, PO Box 422, Stuart, VA 24171. Questions? Call (276) 694-3811.
