UPDATE
State Route 37 (SR-37) Between Mare Island and Sears Point in Solano County
*** ALL WORK IS WEATHER DEPENDANT ***

SOLANO, NAPA AND SONOMA COUNTIES — Caltrans District 4 will be implementing multiple closures on SR-37 in both Eastbound and Westbound directions as part of emergency preparedness for El Niño storm preparedness. Crews are expediting work requiring full closures of the route earlier this week.

Motorists should drive with caution as the Eastbound and Westbound SR-37 traffic are now in a temporary traffic configuration and the speed limit are now temporarily reduced to 45 miles per hour, just west of Vallejo. Motorists will also need to drive adjacent to newly positioned moveable concrete barriers known as K-Rail.

In the coming days, crews will now focus their efforts on the Eastbound lanes to raise portions of the roadway and to repair prior damage due to storms. This work will improve resiliency and address flooding concerns along this vital transportation corridor.

During this new temporary traffic configuration, the Eastbound SR-37 exit to Walnut Ave on Mare Island will be closed. (See Below for Detour)

In the coming month a secondary closure will be scheduled in November 2026 as work on SR-37 continues. Caltrans will provide detailed information with specific dates and times as soon as information is available.

For more project details go to www.37pave.com

Eastbound SR-37 DETOUR:
Motorist coming Eastbound 37 will find that the Walnut Ave exit is closed. To get
to Mare Island motorist have to continue onto Napa River Bridge and get off on
the Wilson Ave. Exit. Then there are two options:

Option 1 - Take a left on Wilson Ave and get back on Westbound 37 and continue to the Walnut Ave. Exit.

Option 2- Make a right on Wilson Ave and continue to the Mare Island Causeway and take it in the Westbound direction.

Note- Mare Island Causeway is closed in the Eastbound Direction. Take Railroad Ave to the Napa River Bridge to leave Mare Island.

What Motorists Should Know
• Expect significant delays and increased travel times
• Use alternate routes whenever possible
• Follow posted detour signs and traffic control devices
• All work is weather dependent
