Happy 251st Birthday to the United States Navy! ⚓🇺🇸

Today, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office proudly celebrates 251 years of courage, honor, and service to our nation.

Here in Solano County, our connection to the Navy runs deep. From the historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, the first U.S. naval shipyard on the Pacific Coast, to the generations of sailors, veterans, and military families who have called our community home, the Navy’s legacy is woven into the fabric of our county’s history.

We are especially proud to have Navy veterans serving within our own ranks. The discipline, integrity, leadership, and commitment to service they developed while serving our country continue to make a difference here at home, helping us protect and serve the people of Solano County.

To our Navy veterans, our dedicated staff who previously served, and all those who have worn the uniform: Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your continued commitment to our communities.

Happy 251st Birthday, U.S. Navy! Fair winds and following seas! ⚓🚢🇺🇸

Discovering careers. Last Thursday we had the opportunity to participate in the “Inspire: Dreams Start Now” 2026 event. This was a chance for students from Fairfield/Suisun and Travis Unified School Districts to see and learn about various careers throughout the public and private sectors that are offered in Solano County.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office brought Deputies, Forensic Services, and Administrative Services, to speak with the students about daily tasks, pathways into public safety, and forensic demonstrations on locating, lifting, and identifying fingerprints.
