These two have never spent one day apart. They are bonded and need a home where they can enjoy the rest their days together.

💔🐾 MEET DIXIE & ROSCOE — A MOTHER AND SON HOPING FOR A SECOND CHANCE. 🐾💔

Sometimes, life changes in the blink of an eye, and through no fault of their own, the lives we know are suddenly turned upside down. 💔

Meet Dixie and Roscoe. ❤️

These two sweet souls have found themselves at the shelter after their beloved owner tragically and unexpectedly passed away. Through no fault of their own, they’ve lost the person they knew, the home they loved, and the life they were accustomed to.

And now, they’re left wondering what comes next. 🥺

Dixie is 11 years old, and Roscoe, her sweet son, is 7. These two are well beyond the puppy stage and are simply looking for a peaceful place to spend their golden years surrounded by love. ❤️

🐾 Here’s what we know about these two sweethearts:

❤️ They are both incredibly sweet and greet you at their kennel doors.

❤️ They walk nicely to and from the play yards.

❤️ Dixie especially LOVES being loved on and soaking up affection!

❤️ They have done wonderfully with the people they’ve met.

❤️ They would make wonderful companions for someone looking for a calmer, more laid-back lifestyle with a dog (or, hopefully, TWO!).

But there’s one thing we’re really hoping for… a home where Dixie and Roscoe can spend the rest of their lives TOGETHER. 🥹❤️

They’ve already experienced one heartbreaking loss. Their entire world has been turned upside down, and the thought of them losing each other, too, is something we would love to help them avoid.

We know finding a home willing to open their heart to TWO senior dogs may be a challenge. We know their ages may make people look past them.

But we also know that somewhere out there, there may be someone who sees these two and realizes that love doesn’t have an expiration date. ❤️

Someone who understands that senior dogs still have so much love to give. Someone who doesn’t need wild puppy energy, but would rather enjoy quiet evenings, leisurely walks, and the simple joy of having two loyal companions by their side.

Could that someone be YOU? 🏡❤️

A few important things to know: Dixie and Roscoe need to be the ONLY dogs in the home. We aren’t sure how much interaction they had with other animals throughout their lives, and we believe they would be happiest in a home without other animals.

They do still need to finish some veterinary care, but if you’re interested in giving these two a chance, please reach out! We would love to help them get on their way to a new beginning. 🐾

🙏 PLEASE SHARE DIXIE & ROSCOE! 🙏

You never know who might see their faces, fall in love, and decide that these two seniors deserve a soft place to land.

They didn’t ask for their world to change. They didn’t ask to lose their person. And they certainly didn’t ask to spend their golden years in a shelter.

Let’s give Dixie and Roscoe the chance to grow old together, surrounded by the love they deserve. ❤️🐾🏡

We are in need of help with laundry soap. All our dogs have a warm comfy blanket every day and we do alot of laundry. 🐾🐕❤️

The nights are getting cooler which means the dogs are going through more blankets which means more to wash. Any donations would be SO appreciated.

❤️ DALTON’S UPDATE: IT TAKES A VILLAGE. ❤️

For those of you who have been following Dalton’s story, we want to share an update with you. But more importantly, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible village of people who have come together for this boy. Because if Dalton’s journey has taught us anything, it’s that sometimes it truly does take a village to make the impossible feel possible. ❤️

First, a HUGE thank-you to the ACOs who cared for Dalton during his time at the shelter. Thank you for loving him, getting him to his appointments, making sure he received the care he needed, and showering him with the attention and affection he so desperately deserved. You saw him as more than just another dog in a kennel, and we will forever be grateful for the love you poured into him.

To our veterinarians here in Kentucky, thank you for working so hard to find answers for Dalton. Thank you for your time, your efforts, your support, and for helping us hold on to hope when we needed it most.

To the two incredible families who came to meet Dalton and fell head over heels for him just as he is… you deserve a special thank-you. You are the real MVPs. ❤️

Thank you for looking at Dalton and seeing Dalton—not his head tilt, not his wobbles, and not the unknowns surrounding his condition. Thank you for listening to us be completely transparent about his medical challenges and accepting that information with open hearts. You didn’t turn away. You gave him your time, your love, and a chance. You checked on him day after day, regardless of what the outcome might be or what decisions would ultimately need to be made.

That kind of compassion is something truly special, and we hope you know just how much it means to us.

To the many rescues here in Kentucky who offered advice, resources, encouragement, and support, THANK YOU. Thank you for reminding us to keep pushing, keep asking questions, and keep fighting for Dalton when the answers weren’t coming easily. Sometimes, just knowing you aren’t alone in the fight makes all the difference.

And now, for the update we’ve been waiting and hoping for…

🐾 THIS MORNING, DALTON TRAVELED OUT OF STATE TO A TOP-NOTCH VETERINARY CLINIC TO SEEK ANSWERS ABOUT HIS NEUROLOGICAL CONDITION! 🐾

And this opportunity is all thanks to Cincinnati Lab Rescue. ❤️

There truly aren’t enough words to express our gratitude to this rescue for stepping up for Dalton and giving him this chance. A chance to be evaluated by specialists. A chance to get answers. A chance to better understand what he’s facing and what his future could look like.

Our hearts have never felt so full.

It’s easy to look at a dog facing medical challenges like Dalton’s and feel overwhelmed. It’s easy to become discouraged when the answers don’t come quickly. It’s easy to look at the unknowns and think, This is too much.

But then there are people who choose to look beyond the challenges. People who see a life worth fighting for. People who step up when a dog needs them most. People who remind us that even when we can’t do everything, together, we can do so much.

Dalton is now in wonderful hands, receiving the care and love he deserves. For the first time in a while, we’re able to take a deep breath knowing that we’re doing everything we can to give this boy a chance at a better future.

We don’t know exactly what the answers will be, but today, Dalton has something incredibly important: HOPE. And sometimes, hope is what keeps us going when the road gets hard.

Some days in rescue feel never-ending. Some days, the emotional weight of advocating, worrying, making calls, searching for answers, and fighting for these animals can feel like more than we can carry.

But then a day like today comes along and reminds us exactly WHY we do it.

Why we keep making the posts. Why we keep asking for help. Why we keep making the calls. Why we keep advocating, even when we’re exhausted, even when we’re discouraged, and even when we feel like we’re shouting into the void.

Because somewhere out there, there might be someone willing to step up. Someone who sees what we see. Someone who can open a door that we couldn’t open alone.

And for Dalton, that door opened. ❤️

To every single person who has loved this boy, supported him, advocated for him, checked on him, offered advice, shared his story, or simply kept him in your thoughts: THANK YOU. You are part of his village, and you have helped get him to this moment.

Today is a reminder that advocacy matters. Compassion matters. And sometimes, refusing to give up on a dog can change the entire course of his story.

**Dalton, buddy, we’ve got you. One step, one answer, and one day at a time
