Services for Seniors work with seniors in 7 counties to set up services provided within the home to help them remain independent, such as meals on wheels, emergency response systems, medication management and much more
HouseCalls by SIVNA provides primary medical care in the patients home when it its dificult for them to get to the doctors office. Senior Protective Services protects seniors from abuse, neglect and exploitation

We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! Whether you're out trick-or-treating or enjoying a night at home, here are a few quick reminders:

Stick together and stay in well-lit areas.

Wear bright costumes or use glow sticks so you're easy to see.

Drivers, slow down and keep an eye out for trick-or-treaters!

And remember, this is Chief Blomberg's last Halloween with the police department before he retires, so if you see him out, HE LOVES CHOCOLATE!

🎉 Exciting news for seniors 60+! 🎉

Staring Monday, October 19th 🗓

Monroe Randolph Transit District (MRTD) is excited to announce that SENIORS RIDE FREE! 🚌

Thanks to funding through the Rural Transformative Community Grant, in coordination with AgeSmart, adults age 60 and older can now enjoy FREE transportation through MRTD!

Whether you're heading to a doctor's appointment, running errands, shopping, or simply getting out and about, we're here to help you get where you need to go!

✅ Who qualifies? Adults age 60 and older!

📅 How long? Free rides are available for a limited time, while grant funding lasts. Availability is limited and subject to funding.

📞 Ready to ride? Call 618-443-9087 to schedule your transportation!

Please note: Medicaid-covered trips will continue to be billed through Medicaid.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Halloween at SIVNA!

We're not even past Halloween and the holiday dread is already creeping in.

Caregiver Tip Tuesday: With the holiday season approaching, this is a good week to start thinking through what you actually need this year, not just what's expected of you. Maybe that means asking a family member to host instead of you, scaling back a tradition that's become more stressful than joyful, or simply deciding in advance which invitations you'll say no to without guilt.

Caregivers often carry holiday planning on top of everything else already on their plate, and the emotional weight of making it feel normal for everyone else can be exhausting in ways that are hard to explain to people outside of caregiving.

You're allowed to make this season smaller and easier for yourself. Letting someone else host is ok. Not making the pierogi, tamale, or other labor intensive tradition this year won't let everyone down. It's not giving up. Sometimes, you just have to admit things can change, just a bit to accomodate the year you've managed.
