For families facing Alzheimer’s, knowing sooner can make a meaningful difference.

Alzheimer’s Project Executive Director Dave Handy brought that message to the Florida Chamber’s Future of Florida Forum, joining Florida Secretary of Elder Affairs Michelle Branham, Steve Waterhouse of the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and North Florida, and Ken Thorpe of the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease.

Dave emphasized that early detection gives families and caregivers more time to prepare for what lies ahead, from making care and financial decisions to putting legal arrangements and long-term support in place. That preparation can help caregivers navigate an incredibly difficult journey and potentially prevent costly crises as the disease progresses.

That’s why we’re urging Congress to pass the ASAP Act and help more families benefit from earlier detection and planning.
