Early in the morning on 10/23/26 Manzanita Department of Public Safety and the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office were made aware of a possible threat to schools in the Neah Kah Nie school district in North Tillamook County. Out of an abundance of caution the schools entered a “lock in” while the investigation occurred.

The investigation revealed that the threat was NOT credible and the schools we are reopened and returned to business as usual. “The safety of the children and the staff is our biggest priority, and I am very proud of the quick and efficient response of our law enforcement. I am incredibly thankful for the positive outcome of this situation, “ said Sheriff Joshua Brown

No further action was taken as a result of the investigation.

Congratulations on Your Retirement, Deputy Billy Cloud!

The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office would like to recognize Deputy Billy Cloud as he retires after more than 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Tillamook County.

Since joining TCSO in 2001, Billy has served our community in a variety of roles, including Criminal Deputy, Marine Deputy, Forest Deputy, K-9 Unit, Search and Rescue Coordinator, and as a member of the Tactical Team. Throughout his career, he has taken on a wide range of responsibilities, always serving where he was needed.

Billy has been a joy to work with and is known for his dedication, dependability, and commitment to serving others. His impact extends beyond the Sheriff’s Office and into the community he has served for so many years.

The incredible turnout at Billy’s retirement party was a testament to just how much he means to this community. Seeing so many community members, friends, colleagues, and members of our partner first responder agencies come together to celebrate him showed the tremendous respect and love people have for Billy. It was a fitting tribute to a career dedicated to helping others.

Billy, thank you for your years of service, your friendship, and the positive impact you have made throughout Tillamook County. You have earned this next chapter, and we wish you nothing but the best in retirement!

Congratulations, Billy! Thank you for everything!

Please join us in welcoming our newest Patrol Deputies!

The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office recently held a swearing-in ceremony for our newest Patrol Deputies, Kiley Konruff and Tyler Sirna!

Both deputies are currently attending the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) academy, where they are developing the foundational knowledge, skills, and experience needed to begin their careers in law enforcement. Academy training includes Oregon law, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, fi****ms, de-escalation, and other essential skills needed to serve our community.

After successfully completing the academy, Deputies Konruff and Sirna will continue their training through our Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP). During this phase, they will work alongside experienced field training deputies, applying what they learned in the academy to real-world situations. FTEP provides hands-on guidance, mentorship, and evaluation to help ensure our new deputies are prepared to serve independently and professionally.

Becoming a deputy takes dedication, hard work, and a commitment to serving others. We are excited to have Kiley and Tyler join our team and look forward to supporting them throughout their training.

Please join us in congratulating Deputies Konruff and Sirna as they begin this exciting chapter in their law enforcement careers!

WHAT A NIGHT!

The 2026 Tillamook County Search and Rescue Banquet was an incredible success, and we want to thank everyone who helped make it such a memorable evening!

This year’s banquet had the highest attendance we have seen since Sheriff Brown took office, with a packed house, great food, plenty of laughs, and an incredible amount of support for Tillamook County Search and Rescue. Thanks to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered, and helped make the night so lively!

The banquet brought in approximately $65,000, which will directly support the Tillamook County Search and Rescue program and the volunteers who dedicate their time to helping others throughout our community.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening came during the Key’d Auction. After winning the grand prize, Jerry Dove generously donated the prize back to the banquet to be auctioned off again! His generosity helped make an already successful evening even more successful, and we are incredibly grateful for his support.

We also had the opportunity to recognize one of our outstanding SAR volunteers. Christina Gregore was presented with the Dean Burdick SAR Volunteer of the Year Award for her dedication and service to the SAR program. Congratulations, Christina, and thank you for everything you do!

“This banquet is a great example of what happens when our community comes together to support the men and women who volunteer their time to help others,” said Sheriff Brown. “The turnout and generosity this year was incredible. I am extremely proud of our Search and Rescue volunteers and grateful to everyone who continues to support this program.”

As always, we could not have done this without our sponsors and donors. Your generosity makes a tremendous difference and allows our SAR volunteers to have the training, equipment, and resources they need to respond when our community needs them most.

A huge thank-you also goes to all of our SAR volunteers who showed up and worked hard to make this event happen. From setup and preparation to serving, organizing, and cleaning up, this banquet simply would not happen without you.

And finally, a special thank-you to the Tillamook County Sheriff's Foundation for helping make this event possible.

Thank you, Tillamook County, for showing up and showing your support for Search and Rescue! We are already looking forward to next year!
