Lucas County Suicide Prevention Our coalition is committed to raising awareness, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, and connecting our community to education, resources, and hope.

Together, we can create a community where it's okay to ask for help. Strategy: The Lucas County Suicide Prevention Coalition seeks the elimination of all suicide attempts and completions in Lucas County. The larger coalition is comprised of citizens from the community interested in preventing suicides/attempts. It meets to discuss prevention activities and to exchange information. The leadership Board meets more frequently and sets the agenda for the coalition and develops multiple activities aimed at eliminating suicides in Lucas County. It is comprised of leaders in suicide prevention, survivors of suicide and professional staff who value collaboration and consensus decision making as a means of fulfilling its mission

Veterans, you don't have to navigate it alone.

Join us for Operation Connected Care on October 23 at the Lucas County Veterans Service Commission and get one-on-one support with VA digital tools, health care enrollment, disability claims, My HealtheVet, VA Video Connect, and more.

Events like these are about more than technology. They are about connection.

Research consistently shows that feeling connected to resources, community, and support can be protective against isolation and hopelessness. Sometimes a simple conversation, a helping hand, or reconnecting with benefits you've earned can make a meaningful difference.

Whether you need help logging in, applying for benefits, or just don't know where to start, we're here to help.

Behind the Silence, There Is Hope!!!

Not all wounds are visible.

Domestic violence can leave individuals feeling trapped, isolated, afraid, and uncertain about their future.

For some survivors, the emotional toll can contribute to depression, hopelessness, and thoughts of su***de.

At the Lucas County Su***de Prevention Coalition, we believe su***de prevention begins with connection, compassion, and making sure people know they are not alone.

đź’ś Listen without judgment.
đź’ś Believe survivors.
đź’ś Offer support without pressure.
đź’ś Help connect someone with resources.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can offer someone is the reminder that their life matters and support is available.

Today is World Mental Health Day. đź’š
This year's theme, "Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change," reminds
us that people who have faced mental health challenges are the experts on their
own journeys, and their voices should help shape the care and support our
community provides.

Take a moment today to check in on someone you care about. A simple
"How are you, really?" can mean more than you know.
If you need support, call or text 988 anytime. Hope is real. Help is real.

Intention and impact. Those 2 words helped guide us in creating today's men's mental health conference that talked about su***de prevention, shared the 2025 su***de death data in Lucas County, and why it is IMPORTANTE (important) for lethal means safety.

Tommy Bolin, our keynote speaker, really set the tone for the room. Very engaging and 10/10 🙏🏽🫶🏽 I am so glad he came up to Toledo, and glad that he is still here. The 2 panels were phenominal, and the audience was captivated for both!!

Quick question...what is the National Su***de Crisis Hotline?

Lethal Means Safety.
A.K.A Safe fi***rm storage,
A.K.A Voluntary out-of-home storage during a crisis.
