It's that time of year again! At 2:00 AM we switch back to Standard Time. Turn your clocks back an hour before you go to bed and enjoy an extra hour of sleep!
While you're at it, check those smoke detectors. Change batteries and check the expiration dates

The General election that we've been all hearing about will be held on Tuesday November 3rd. Polls will be open from 7AM to 8PM. The sample ballet is shown. Do your homework on the candidates you support and GET OUT AND VOTE!

FOR YOUR INFORMATION! There have been several reports of propane grill tanks being stolen. It's recommended you lock your tanks to your grills or store them in a secure ventilated location. Police are investigating.

DON'T FORGET: Halloween is this Sunday! The parade is at noon with trick or treat following until 4 PM. And while you're out with your ghouls and goblins, stop by and haunt the Boro building! Treats for the kids. On Halloween, we are all kids!

TUNNELHILL BORO 150 YEARS STRONG!
Come celebrate the Boro's 150th anniversary with an open house at the Boro building on Saturday August 8th from 2 to 4 PM.
A free gift for the first 50 visitors. Enjoy a hot dog and a cold drink. Tunnelhill boro historian Allen Lego will be on hand with interesting facts, and artifacts and to answer your questions.
Enter a free raffle to win a gift basket! Drawing will be held at 3:45

This Saturday, July 11, the Big Boy will be going thru the New Portage Tunnel at approx. 10:00 AM. Tunnelhill Boro is very proud to be a part of Big Boy's journey back home to Cheyane, Wyoming.

We would like you to be aware of traffic modifications for the event. Portage Street will close at 8:00 AM, as will Pine and Spruce streets. Sandusky Street will be open, but be aware of heavier than normal traffic.

We anticipate a large walking crowd on Portage street, and the complete closure will help ensure pedestrian safety. Residents on Portage street may enter and exit on Tunnelhill Street only, but please try to minimize your travels Saturday morning

For safety's sake, DO NOT attempt to venture onto or near the tracks for a better view, a selfie, or any other photography. This is a 600 ton locomotive and tender with several cars and a diesel locomotive back up. If you get too close, or fall on the tracks, it's not going to get stopped. Railroad police can and will arrest you for trespassing.

Stay safe and enjoy seeing this piece of railroad history!

Happy 250th Birthday USA! Have a happy and safe Fourth of July! Please be aware of increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area around Gremlin park. Festivities at the park start at noon. Bring the whole family and ENJOY!
