Maya Mungo is the Editor-in-Chief of and one of our graduating seniors. She may be leaving soon, but what she learned will always stick with her.

“The best thing I learned from working at the Office of Student Media was how to effectively lead people. Managing a staff and having to juggle administrative work while also corralling staff members was a heavy task, but one I’m grateful to have done and put under my belt as experience,” Mungo said.

Her favorite memory was the launch event for the previous issue of the journal where she was able to speak on behalf of the team’s hard work.

She recommends students new to student media to not be afraid to speak up, attributing her success to being vocal at meetings, even as a freshman.

After graduation, she plans on moving to Chicago to work in marketing research.
