🎃👻 THANK YOU to everyone who came out, decorated a trunk, donated candy, or walked through our Trunk and Treat last Friday! You made this year’s event so special for our community. We loved seeing all the creative costumes and decorated cars.
And a huge THANK YOU to the local businesses, UCPD, and UCFD for coming out and making our trunk and treat even more fun!

The Board of Education-initiated renaming process for Cesar Chavez Middle School is moving forward. Next week, the Board will hold a special meeting to hear from the community. The meeting will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in the CCMS Gymnasium. The meeting is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. During the meeting, the Facility Names Committee will provide a progress update, and then members of the public may share their thoughts with the Board.

The renaming of CCMS has generated a lot of interest in our community, and a lot of information has been circulating on social media. In some cases, it may look like the information is coming from New Haven Unified. The district does not monitor or control what is shared on social media sites such as Instagram and Facebook. We have a link on our website where we post all official information and data for anyone interested. You can access this link HERE.

That’s it for this week.

Sincerely,

John Thompson, Ed.D.
Superintendent
