RAISE THE ROOF — City of Waco employees rolled up their sleeves this week to help the Castro family get one step closer to homeownership!

During the annual Raise the Roof event with Waco Habitat for Humanity, City employees and community volunteers worked together to build the exterior walls of the family's future home.

The Castro family has already completed their required volunteer hours, known as sweat equity, and Habitat's homeowner education program. Their new home is being made possible through generous donations from the Waco Convention Center, the Waco Association of Realtors and other community supporters.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated their time, resources and hard work to help turn the dream of homeownership into reality!
