The Walnut Creek Police Department is still seeking interested Walnut Creek residents who want to serve on the Chief’s Advisory Board! There are several openings and applications are open now through Friday, October 30, 2026.

Established in 2020, the Chief’s Community Advisory Board has served as a sounding board and feedback loop for the Chief of Police. The Board brings fresh perspectives and more opportunities for additional residents to serve. Members have influenced policies and procedures and give the Chief a valuable community perspective. Police Chief Ryan Hibbs said, “The Chief’s Advisory Board helps us see things from the community’s perspective and ensures we’re addressing concerns we might otherwise overlook.” The Chief is hoping for a broad representation of viewpoints on public safety from those who apply, adding important voices to the current board.
The Board serves as a resource for the Walnut Creek Chief of Police in the formation of strategies, developing community policing concepts, increasing public awareness, furthering engagement and transparency efforts, and identifying best practices.

The Chief’s Community Advisory Board members are seated in rotating two-year terms and meet monthly at City Hall. Interviews for candidates will be conducted within the upcoming weeks.

Applications are available to Walnut Creek residents on the City’s website at www.walnutcreekca.gov, or directly online at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/g/UnJHQZJKp1
