4.08 million tonnes of cargo moved through the Seaway to the end of April. Volumes are currently below last year’s pace, but it remains early in the navigation season and vital goods continue to move on this important trade corridor.

🎤🚢 Administrator Mike McCoshen delivered remarks today during Transportation Go! in Chicago. This annual conference focuses on fostering collaboration among growers, shippers, and policy makers to strengthen supply chain efficiency, particularly in the Great Lakes region and for U.S. agricultural exports.

During the conference, Administrator McCoshen also participated in a panel focused on priorities and current projects for increasing trade and utilization of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway.

Included in the panel: Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation Director of Trade and Economic Development Peter Hirthe and The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation General Manager, Cargo, and Real Estate Ken Carey.
