Twenty years of showing up for Houston. Rep. Al Green came to Congress in 2005 as a civil rights veteran and never stopped fighting. He served as president of the Houston NAACP, grew its membership from hundreds to thousands, and carried that same energy to the House floor every single day. His advocacy for fair housing, economic equality, and the communities that needed a voice the most leaves a mark that outlasts any election cycle. We honor his service and his legacy.

Colin Allred is headed back to Washington. Tonight, North Texas voters chose him as the Democratic nominee for TX-33 and sent a clear message about the kind of leadership they want in Congress. A civil rights attorney, former NFL player, and tireless advocate for working families, Allred brings a proven record and a fighter’s heart to this race. Congratulations on this hard-earned win.

Houston has spoken. Rep. Christian Menefee wins the TX-18 Democratic primary and is headed to the general election in November. From Harris County Attorney to the halls of Congress, he has built a career fighting for working people and he is just getting started.

A new Public Citizen report finds more than 440 hospitals are at risk of closing or cutting services as Medicaid funding shrinks. Black and Latino communities will carry the heaviest impact, with reduced obstetric care, layoffs, and lost coverage on the line. This is the result of a Trump administration that continues to show they do NOT care about the American people.

The Callais decision puts up to 19 Congressional Black Caucus seats at risk. CBC Chair Rep. Yvette Clarke says members are mobilizing in courts and in communities to defend Black voting power across the South. The fight for representation is STILL on.

The primaries are here in six states: Alabama. Georgia. Idaho. Kentucky. Oregon. Pennsylvania.
