🐺 ⚠️ COMMUNITY SAFETY ALERT – COYOTE SIGHTINGS ⚠️

The Waterford Police Department would like to make residents aware of recent coyote sightings in the area of the golf course and Waterford Woods neighborhood.

While coyotes are common in our area and generally avoid people, we encourage residents to take a few simple precautions:

🐾 Keep pets supervised, especially smaller dogs and cats, when outdoors.

🐾 Keep dogs on a leash when walking, particularly during early morning and evening hours.

🐾 Do not leave pet food or garbage outside where it may attract wildlife.

🐾 Never approach or feed coyotes. Give them space and keep your distance.

🐾 Be alert and aware of your surroundings, especially near wooded areas and open spaces.

If you encounter a coyote, remain calm, keep your distance, and do not run. Make yourself appear larger and use loud noises to encourage it to leave.

Please help spread the word to your neighbors! A little awareness goes a long way in keeping our community and pets safe.

Stay safe, Waterford! 💙

🎃👻 What a SPOOKTACULAR time! 🚔🍬

We had a blast at Fox River Middle School’s Trunk or Treat yesterday! What a fun way to kick off the weekend!

From princesses and witches to Brewers players ⚾💙💛 (Way to go, Brewers! 😉), the costumes were awesome!

A big THANK YOU to the organizers for inviting us to join the festivities! We love being part of the fun in our community!

🚨 BOAT ON THE LOOSE! 🚨 🚣‍♂️🌊

The Waterford Police Department has spotted a paddle boat floating around the northwest part of the lake… with absolutely NO ONE at the helm! 👀

It appears this vessel has decided to take itself out for a little cruise. No captain, no paddling, no apparent destination. Just out there living its best life. 😂

🚣 If you recognize this boat, please come corral it! It seems to have wandered off and may need a little help finding its way home.

We appreciate the public’s assistance in bringing this wayward watercraft back to shore before it starts claiming new territory! 😎

🇺🇸 POLITICAL SIGN REMINDER 🇺🇸

It’s election season, and political signs are popping up throughout our community!

The Waterford Police Department would like to remind everyone to be respectful of others and their political signs, regardless of personal opinions or political beliefs.

Please remember that removing, damaging, or tampering with someone else’s political signs is not acceptable and may result in legal consequences.

Additionally, political signs must be placed in accordance with Wisconsin State Statute § 12.035(3), which addresses restrictions on the placement of election-related materials.

We encourage everyone to express their views respectfully while following applicable laws.

🇺🇸 Different opinions are part of our democracy. Respect for one another is what keeps our community strong.

Thank you for helping keep Waterford a respectful and welcoming community!

🐾 A big thank you to S.O.L.E. for your continued support of the Waterford PD K-9 Unit! Your generosity and commitment to our K-9 program make a real difference, and we are truly grateful for your ongoing support. Thank you for being part of our team! 💙

🐾💙 Another special delivery for one of our four-legged heroes!

We caught up with K9 Molly of the Waterford Police Department - Wisconsin - at K9 training to deliver her annual grant from S.O.L.E.!

Thanks to our amazing supporters and their generosity at the Racine Policeman's Ball, we’re able to continue giving back to the K9 teams that work hard to keep our communities safe.

And to top it off, since I took a couple hours of vacation to spend some time with our favorite four-legged officers, we may or may not have turned K9 training into a little Halloween photo shoot! 🎃👻🐾

Stay tuned… the cuteness is coming! 😉💙
