YOUR VACANT LAND COULD BE LISTED FOR SALE WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE!
On June 16, 2026, the FBI issued an official warning about criminals impersonating property owners and attempting to sell vacant land without their permission.
These individuals may use:
• Fake driver's licenses and identification documents.
• Public property records to obtain owners' names and addresses.
• Telephone calls and text messages to impersonate legitimate owners.
• Convincing stories to persuade real estate professionals to list property.
Owners who live away from their vacant land, lake lots, farmland, or rural acreages should be especially alert.
The FBI encourages property owners and real estate professionals to recognize suspicious activity and report suspected fraud.
