Congratulations, John!
We joined the Webster Highway Department in recognizing John Leckinger's impressive and dedicated career as he retires after more than 28 years of service. John began his journey with us in 1997 as a part-time laborer. Over the years, he earned multiple promotions and ultimately became the Road Foreman in 2024. His legacy will continue to be felt long after his retirement last Friday.
John’s diverse skill set across various trades has enabled the Highway Department to successfully complete significant projects, including the construction and expansion of the Clifford E. Jones Building and the salt barn. More recently, he played a crucial role in the construction of the new Barry A. Deane Highway Facility and the ongoing Salt Barn replacement project. Additionally, his years of service include countless hours spent operating snowplows on our roads, performing road work, and managing leaf collection. We cannot thank John enough for his high quality of work and friendship over the years.
We wish you a long, happy, and healthy retirement!
