Don’t forget: When you change your clocks tonight, change your smoke detector batteries too! ⏰🍂
As we "fall back" and gain an extra hour of sleep, it’s the perfect reminder to complete this simple, life-saving task. Fresh batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors keep your home and loved ones safe heading into the winter months.
Quick Safety Checklist for Tonight:
• 🔋 Swap the batteries: Replace old batteries with fresh ones in all alarms.
• ✅ Test the buttons: Press and hold the test button to ensure the siren sounds loud and clear.
• 🗓️ Check the expiration date: Smoke detectors need to be replaced entirely every 10 years.
Take five minutes before bed tonight to cross this off your list. It's a small step that makes a massive difference!

Certified and ready to lead. 🎓🚒 The 2026 WTFD/TTVFD Joint Fire Academy has come to a conclusion and the students have graduated.

Completing this academy is no small feat—it represents hundreds of hours of grueling coursework, intense physical testing, and rigorous live-fire evaluations.

They have evolved from eager recruits into tactical, disciplined firefighters ready to protect and serve our communities.

A huge thank you to our incredible instructor cadre for their relentless mentorship, and to the families who supported these graduates every step of the way.

Please join us in welcoming our newest firefighters to the family.

Fire Chief Ward and Division Chief Huff had the privilege or attending the IU Health West Lafayette Hospital "Topping Out" ceremony held yesterday in Wabash Township.

"A topping out ceremony marks the placement of the final beam at the highest point of a building’s structure, signifying the completion of the building’s frame. Held on the construction site, the ceremony involves a beam (often steel and painted white) signed by the crew and adorned with symbolic items like an evergreen tree or flags."

This hospital is great news for the residents of Wabash Township, West Lafayette and Tippecanoe County!

The addition of this new hospital will increase access to healthcare and significantly reduce ambulance transport times for our residents.
