Underwood Conservation District Underwood CD is a grant funded, non-regulatory service district that works with willing landowners.

Underwood Conservation District (UCD) helps landowners and land managers enhance and protect natural resources on a voluntary basis. We can provide assistance in areas such as conservation planning, water and soil protection, wildlife habitat improvement, wildfire risk reduction (Firewise) and much more. UCD can also help arrange for cost sharing assistance in implementing projects that improve or protect natural resources. Like other conservation districts, UCD is a not-for-profit, non-regulatory agency, available to assist landowners in natural resource conservation.

🐝Leave the stems for habitat! There are many native bee species that rely on dead stems and twigs with soft, pithy centers to carve out and create shelter for overwintering. When pruning back shrubs or fruiting canes leave 8-10 inches of stem to provide nesting sites for our native bees. Thank you for caring!🐝

Help gather data for homeowners insurance in relation to wildfires!
Kate Bennett, a White Salmon resident and Harvard graduate student, is researching how wildfire risk is disrupting the homeowners insurance market across the Gorge. Bennett is surveying Gorge homeowners on how their insurance coverage may have changed over the last 5 years.

Whether your rates jumped, your policy was dropped, or nothing has changed, your experience matters. Complete the survey here -https://harvard.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9yiwvh0p7EMQCmq-- it takes about 15 minutes, responses are confidential and reported only as group totals, and you can enter to win a $150 pFriem gift card.
