PSA from Navajo Nation Emergency Medical Service

Due to ongoing flooding and inclement weather across the Navajo Nation, emergency medical response times may be significantly delayed.

Washed-out roads, impassable bridges, flooded highways, and muddy conditions are creating challenges for our EMS crews. Additionally, many air ambulance services, including fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, are currently grounded due to unsafe weather conditions.

Many of our own Navajo EMS personnel and their families have also been directly impacted by these conditions.

Despite these challenges, Navajo EMS remains committed to serving our communities. Our teams will continue assessing road conditions and doing everything possible to respond safely to emergency medical needs.

We ask for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. Please avoid unnecessary travel, never cross flooded roadways, and follow all emergency advisories.

Your safety and the safety of our first responders remain our priority.
