⛰️ Class 37 took training to new heights! 🚒

Recruit Class 37 trekking through Pilot # # Mountain working alongside rescue crews and practicing low-angle rescue techniques in challenging terrain.
These hands-on exercises helped recruits build skills for assisting people in need on steep, difficult-to-access terrain. 💪
🔥 Every skill learned today helps prepare our future firefighters to serve our community tomorrow. Because when someone needs help, our team is ready to answer the call wherever it leads!

🔥 What happens when a fire starts inside your home?

Chief Grubbs and Captain Gossett recently helped participants at City of WS University see firsthand how fire behaves inside a home and how quickly conditions can change.

Through a hands-on fire scenario, they learned how building materials and household furnishings contribute to fire growth and spread and why working smoke alarms and a practiced home escape plan can save lives.

🚨 Remember:
Test your smoke alarms regularly.
Know two ways out of every room.
Establish a family meeting place outside.
Get out and stay out if a fire occurs.
Fire safety starts with knowledge and preparation. A few minutes of planning today could make all the difference tomorrow!

🚒 Training Today. Ready for Anything.

WSFire personnel spent the weekend at the 2026 NC Extrication School at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, sharpening their skills through hands-on training with advanced equipment and the latest extrication techniques.

This valuable training helps prepare our firefighters to respond to a variety of vehicle rescue scenarios and safely assist those who need us most.

We train hard so we’re ready when our community needs us! 💪🚒
