Election Day is Tuesday, November 3! Have questions about East Grand Fire’s Ballot Issues 6D and 6E?

The attached graphics provide informational summaries of the two proposals:

• 6D asks whether to authorize a new 0.28% district sales tax on taxable purchases within the district.
• 6E asks whether to allow the district to collect property tax revenue above a state revenue growth limit.

These are separate questions, and voters may vote yes or no on each independently.

Read East Grand Fire’s Ballot FAQ for more information about each proposal and what approval or non-approval would mean:

Fire Marshal Ryan is looking up… and this is your reminder to do the same! 👀

Fire safety is part of Ryan’s everyday work, and a few simple checks can help keep your home safe too:

🔊 Check your smoke alarms! Have them inside every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level. Test monthly and replace alarms when they’re 10 years old.

🏠 Check your carbon monoxide (CO) alarms! Have them at minimum on every level. Test monthly and follow the manufacturer’s replacement instructions, CO alarms expire too!

❄️ As our mountain nights get colder, keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet from space heaters, and turn them off before bed or when leaving the room.

A few minutes of checking now can make a big difference when it matters. Consider this your sign to press that “test” button today. 🔊

🚒 Mountain living comes with some unique challenges!

Steep terrain, remote properties, and unpredictable weather can make emergency response a little more complicated up here. That’s why our East Grand firefighters train for all kinds of situations (sometimes with a pretty great view). 🌄

This Fire Prevention Month, here are a few ways you can help keep our mountain community safe:

🏡 Make sure your house numbers are clearly visible from the road.

🚒 Keep driveways and access roads clear for emergency vehicles.

❄️ As winter approaches, keep fire hydrants clear of snow.

🌲 Know your evacuation routes and have a plan if you need to leave quickly.

We’ll handle the heights. You help us with the ground rules😉

🔥 Permits are limited and issued on a per-address basis.
🔥 All permitted work must follow strict fire safety requirements.

🔥Unpermitted work being performed may be subject to Grand County fire restriction fines.
🔥 An East Grand Fire inspection may be required before work begins.

These restrictions are in place to reduce the risk of wildfires and help keep our community safe.
