Woods Cross City will begin removing eight ash trees at Hogan Park on October 21, 2026, due to severe borer infestations.

On July 14, a large limb broke off one of the trees. As crews cut it into smaller sections for removal, they discovered extensive borer damage throughout the limb. Further evaluation revealed signs of heavy infestation in all eight ash trees.

The City consulted multiple professionals, including our Parks Manager, who is a licensed arborist. Their assessments confirmed that removal is necessary.

We know these trees are a valued part of Hogan Park. This decision was made with the safety of park visitors in mind. Thank you for your patience as crews complete this work.

Agreed! Sergeant Linton will be greatly missed. His service and dedication have left a lasting legacy in our community.

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month for October!
It is with great respect and appreciation that we nominate Sergeant Linton for Employee of the Month in recognition of his 22 years of dedicated service in law enforcement, including 20 years with WXPD.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Linton has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving his community, supporting his fellow officers, and upholding the values and responsibilities of the law enforcement profession. His two decades with our department represent countless hours of
service, leadership, sacrifice, and dedication.

As Sergeant Linton prepares to retire this month, it is especially fitting that we recognize the lasting impact he has made on our department and the people around him. His experience, professionalism, and commitment have contributed to the strength of our organization and have
undoubtedly influenced the officers and colleagues who have had the opportunity to work alongside him.

While no single award can fully express our gratitude for 22 years of service, naming Sergeant Linton Employee of the Month would be a meaningful way for our department to honor his career and celebrate his contributions as he begins this next chapter.

We sincerely thank Sergeant Linton for his dedication, leadership, and service. Congratulations on a remarkable career, Sergeant Linton
