Congratulations, Neelie Hodges!

We are excited to recognize Mrs. Hodges for her hard work, dedication, and initiative in writing and securing a grant to benefit the students at Yadkin Success Academy!

Through her efforts, YSA will be bringing a Financial Literacy Program to our students, providing those nearing graduation with valuable financial knowledge and practical skills to help them navigate life beyond high school.
Understanding how to budget, save, manage money, make responsible financial decisions, and plan for the future are essential life skills. This program will give our students tools and awareness that can help put them on a path toward success, both now and in the years ahead.

We are proud of Mrs. Hodges for recognizing this need, taking the initiative, and working to create another opportunity for our students. Her efforts are a great example of our commitment to preparing students not just to graduate, but to succeed in life!

We are proud to celebrate 18 students who earned our first quarter reward by maintaining 90% or better attendance! These students enjoyed an exciting trip to High Gravity Adventures ropes course in Blowing Rock! 🧗‍♀️🌲

During the trip, students challenged themselves, built confidence, and practiced important skills in team communication and working together. It was a fun way to recognize their efforts while encouraging personal growth and teamwork!

📌 A quick reminder about attendance: Excused absences do not count against students when determining eligibility for the reward. Be sure to submit the appropriate documentation for any absences!

🎯 The next opportunity is coming! We will have another reward trip at the end of the second quarter, so students have another chance to work toward this goal!

💙 A special thank-you to our families! We appreciate our parents and guardians for encouraging regular school attendance, supporting their students, and submitting documentation when needed. Your partnership makes a difference!

🎉 September Attendance Celebration! 🎉

We recently celebrated 21 amazing students who achieved 90% attendance or better during the month of September! 🙌 Even more exciting, we saw an increase from 18 students last month to 21 this month! 📈 We are so proud to see our students making progress and showing up ready to learn!

Our students enjoyed some extra free time and delicious snacks, generously donated by Pilot View Friends Church. Students who achieved perfect attendance also earned a McDonald’s coupon! 🍟🍔

A huge THANK YOU to our students for their hard work, our parents for encouraging daily attendance, and Pilot View Friends Church for supporting and celebrating our students! ❤️

📣 The excitement isn’t over yet! Our first-quarter reward trip is coming soon! Make sure your child is at school every day so they have the opportunity to earn their spot. Every day counts! 💪📚

A big thank you to Lisa Lamb and Emily Pratt from NCWorks for presenting their budget reality workshop earlier this week!

Our middle and high school students learned about creating a budget, managing expenses, making financial decisions, and planning for their future goals.

To bring the experience to life, students received scenario cards and NCWorks Bucks to see if they could afford the lifestyle they chose. From career choices to everyday expenses, students got a hands-on look at how their future decisions can impact their financial reality.

It was a fun, interactive way to build career awareness, financial literacy, and real-world decision-making skills! 💼🏠🚗💵

We asked our high school students what they would like to learn about during flex time this year, and we listened! A big thank you to Matthew Fox from Legal Aid of NC for speaking to our students about leases, tenant rights, and what to be aware of as a first time renter.

Mrs. Pack’s English I class is currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird, and have been working on their Character Analysis posters.

Last week, we celebrated 18 students who had a 90% attendance rate or better for the month of August. They were able to enjoy additional free time, Takis, and Gatorade generously donated by Pilot View Friends Church. For students who had perfect attendance, they earned a free meal at McDonalds as well. We are so proud of these students for making attendance a priority, appreciative of the parents who encourage attendance, and thankful for our supporters at Pilot View! We have more attendance initiatives in the works, and hope to share more good news throughout the year.
