Most people know Gemini by what happens when our boats leave the factory. They see them operating offshore, supporting rescue crews, working with defence teams and taking on conditions that demand serious equipment.

What they don't often see is everything that happens before that first launch. The size of the operation, the different trades working alongside each other and the extraordinary amount of work that takes place behind these doors.

Over the coming months, we're opening up the factory and introducing the people and processes behind the boats. From the first stages of construction to the last checks before delivery, this is the side of Gemini you rarely get to see.

The first 10 Rapid Deployment Craft are loaded and on their way today.

Where are they going? Who are they for? And what exactly will they be doing when they get there?

Nice try.

Some missions aren't ours to disclose. And that's where we'll leave it.

What we can talk about is what went into building them. More than four decades of experience, serious engineering, precision craftsmanship and a team that understands the demands of building vessels for operations where performance is not optional.

Every detail has a purpose. Every decision is made with the mission in mind. Built for demanding conditions, where reliability, capability and performance are expected.

The first ten are now heading out, carrying the Gemini name and the workmanship of the people behind every build.

We're exceptionally proud of what we've delivered.

The mission remains confidential. Our standards never do.

Built in South Africa. Built for the mission.

Some boats get bought once. Gemini boats get chosen again.

That is what happens when a boat proves itself where it matters, on the water, in real conditions, over time. The first build introduces people to Gemini. The next one usually comes after they already know what the hull can do, how the boat performs, and what it is like to work from it when the conditions are not easy.

That is why organisations like NSRI, along with rescue, commercial and other professional operators, keep coming back. Not because of promises, but because they already know what they are getting.

When the boat does the job properly, the next decision gets a lot easier.

There are worse ways to get to work.

Hardangerfjord Adventure runs RIB safaris through Norway’s spectacular Hardangerfjord, taking guests deep into the fjords with experienced local captains at the helm.

Their Geminis spend their days carrying people past waterfalls, steep mountain walls and into places that feel a long way from ordinary.

It’s a very different job from rescue, patrol or defence, but the fundamentals remain the same: a boat that is capable, comfortable and ready for the conditions.

And with an office like this, we can understand why they keep coming back.

The world is big. Go see more of it.

A working boat should never make its crew work around it.

The job shapes the boat.

We start with the crew. What they carry. Where they move. What needs to be within arm's reach. How they board, how they tow, where the gear lives, and what the boat will be asked to do when the weather turns.

A rescue crew needs fast access and clear deck space for casualties. A defence team needs secure stowage and a platform that holds steady under load. Offshore operators need reach, range and a boat that keeps working when the sea picks up.

Research teams need room for instruments and a stable working deck. Commercial operators need a boat that earns its keep every day.

Same Gemini platform. Very different boats. The mission sets the requirements.

The hull is where it begins. Everything above it is where the mission takes over the build.
