Today, I, together with Umzimkhulu Local Municipality Speaker Cde Gugulethu Mavuma, Cde Less Stuta and Ward Candidate Cde Thuba Phungula, led a door-to-door campaign in Ward 10, Kwanjunga Village, David Ndawonde Branch, Sindiso Jethro Magaqa Sub-Region, Harry Gwala Region, KwaZulu-Natal.
During community engagements, ANC volunteers learned of the passing of Mr Mtolo. Guided by the spirit of Ubuntu, umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu, the delegation visited the grieving family to convey heartfelt condolences and offer words of comfort and solidarity during this difficult time.
The visit was a reminder that leadership is not only about politics but also about compassion, caring for one another and standing with our people in moments of sorrow and need.
The campaign also provided an opportunity to listen humbly to residents, understand their daily challenges and hear their expectations for improved service delivery. The ANC recognises that the people's voices must guide its work and that trust is earned through listening, accountability and meaningful action.
As we approach the Local Government Elections on 4 November 2026, the ANC remains committed to walking alongside communities, serving with humility and working together to build a better future for all.
The ANC is at its best when it listens, cares and serves. Together, let us strengthen Ubuntu and build communities where every person matters.
ANC- listening to the People. Caring for the People. Working with the People.
