Their footprints are not just tracks - they are their ears to the earth!
Elephants feel vibrations through their feet and can "hear" other elephants calling from kilometres away.

An adult elephant eats 100kg to 200kg of food PER DAY!
That's why they spend almost the whole day eating.

An elephant's trunk is its nose AND upper lip joined together.
It has over 40,000 muscles in it - humans only have about 600 muscles in our WHOLE body!

Did you know that centipedes are fast-moving predators that play an important role in nature? Here's what makes these many-legged creatures so fascinating!

🦵 Not 100 Legs! Despite their name, centipedes do not always have 100 legs. They have one pair of legs per body segment, and the number varies by species.
🦷 Venomous Hunters: Centipedes use modified front legs called forcipules to inject venom into their prey.
🌙 Night-Time Hunters: Many centipedes are active at night, hiding under rocks, logs, and leaf litter during the day.
🐜 Natural Pest Controllers: They feed on insects, spiders, and other small creatures, helping control their populations.
⚡ Super Fast: Centipedes can move surprisingly quickly, making them effective hunters.
🌧️ Love Damp Places: You may find them in moist soil, gardens, and beneath stones, especially after rain.

Black-Backed vs Bat-Eared Jackal — they are NOT the same!

Black-Backed: The clever thief with the black jacket. A true predator that hunts meat.
Bat-Eared: The little termite-eater with giant ears. Completely harmless!

One is a cunning hunter, the other is our friendly insect control. Both are special sightings in the Limpopo bush!

Don't let their size fool you. These gentle giants of the bushveld are incredibly fast, powerful, and surprisingly agile when they need to be. And when you see a mother with her calf like this at sunset in the Limpopo bush, you realize why we must protect every single one.
