Then we want YOU to join our committee and help make a difference!

Time commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours per month, including one monthly meeting and occasional activities

Lead a trail, help organise events, create social media content, liaise with service providers, or contribute your skills and ideas

Curiosity Took Flight! Discovering the Wonderful World of Bats

Over 50 people joined us for a delightful Bat-Tastic Night at Palmiet Nature Reserve on Sunday 4 October. What an amazing evening of discovery, learning and appreciation for these fascinating creatures of the night.

A huge thank you to Kirsten and Kelsey from Bats KZN for sharing their knowledge, patiently answering all our questions and helping us learn more about the important role bats play in our ecosystem.

Discover the Secret World of Palmiet’s Bats

Sunday 4 October 2026 | 5:30pm

Join us for a fascinating evening with Kirsten and Kelsey, local experts from BATS KZN, as they take us into the mysterious world of these remarkable nocturnal creatures

Enjoy an informative and entertaining talk in the Boma, followed by a short walk to spot and identify bats using specialist bat detectors - as the bats fly and hunt in the reserve

Fun, fascinating and family-friendly!
Children are especially welcome and always enjoy this unique evening in nature
