CANCER AWARENESS OUTREACH AT BRONDAL FARM 🎗️

On 21 October 2026, Child Welfare White River conducted a Cancer Awareness and Social Work Services programme for Children and Families at Brondal Farm.

We were honoured to be joined by Sister Malapane and Sister Mnisi from Brondal Clinic (Department of Health) who educated our families on what cancer is, types of cancer including breast cancer, and introduced the Cancervive WhatsApp Cancer Chat Bot.

Our Social Worker Ms. Nontobeko Mashaba also shared information on support services offered by Child Welfare to families infected and affected by cancer, and encouraged everyone to take initiative and go for screening.

Early detection saves lives!

💜 CELEBRATING WOMEN | WOMEN’S DAY LADIES MORNING TEA SEMINAR 💜

On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Child Welfare South Africa: White River had the privilege of bringing together an incredible group of women for a beautiful morning of connection, wellness, empowerment, reflection and celebration at BOSSA Restaurant, Nelspruit.

Our gathering was centred around the many different roles women play in welfare and wellness within our communities — as social workers, house mothers, caregivers, counsellors, advocates, professionals, mothers, mentors and pillars of support. We wanted to create a space where the women who spend so much of their time caring for others could pause, breathe, connect and be reminded that they too deserve to be cared for, heard, supported and celebrated. 💜

We were incredibly honoured to hear from our wonderful guest speakers:

🌸 Akeso Nelspruit – Mental Health & Emotional Wellness
🌸 Lifeline Nelspruit – Emotional Well-being, Counselling, Psychosocial Support & Crisis Intervention
🌸 SAPS White River – Gender-Based Violence, Women’s Safety & Psychosocial Support
🌸 Yuki Manjate – Provincial Mpumalanga Miss 1st Runner-Up 2025 – Inspiration & Empowerment
🌸 Leni Snyman – Pastoral Counselling – Faith & Wellness

Each contribution brought a unique perspective and reminded us of the importance of self-awareness, emotional wellness, personal safety, resilience, faith and intentional self-care.

💐 TO EVERY WOMAN WHO ATTENDED…

Thank you. Truly.

Your presence made this morning extra special. Thank you for showing up, for participating, for laughing with us, sharing with us, listening, connecting and allowing yourselves to be poured into for a change.

You spend so much of your lives pouring into children, families, colleagues and communities. This morning was our small reminder that you matter too.

We hope you left feeling seen, valued, encouraged and reminded of just how much your work and your presence mean to the people and communities you serve. ❤️

☕ A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO BOSSA RESTAURANT NELSPRUIT

To the wonderful team at BOSSA Restaurant Nelspruit, thank you for being such generous and gracious hosts. Your hospitality, warmth and willingness to accommodate us helped create the beautiful atmosphere we envisioned for this special morning.

We are deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity. 💜☕

🌸 THANK YOU, AKESO NELSPRUIT

A heartfelt thank you to Akeso Nelspruit for your generous donation and for supporting our vision of creating a wellness-focused space for women in the welfare sector.

Your contribution helped us make the morning even more meaningful and memorable.

🏡 THANK YOU, THIWE DUMA INTERIOR DESIGNS

To Thiwe Duma Interior Designs, thank you for your generous donation and for believing in what we were trying to create.

Your support helped us bring together the little details that transformed an ordinary gathering into something truly special. We are incredibly grateful. 💜

💜 TO OUR FRIENDS OF CHILD WELFARE…

There are always those who quietly step in when there are missing pieces, and we want you to know that we see you, appreciate you and are incredibly grateful for you.

To every friend, supporter, colleague, organisation and individual who contributed in whatever way — whether through a donation, a contribution, a connection, assistance behind the scenes, lending a helping hand, providing resources or simply encouraging us — THANK YOU.

You helped us fill the gaps and bring the vision together.

It truly took a community to make this morning happen, and we are humbled by the generosity and goodwill shown towards Child Welfare South Africa: White River. 🌷

🌟 AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING…

What started as an idea to create a small space for women in welfare became a morning filled with laughter, learning, vulnerability, encouragement, connection and sisterhood.

And yes… we intend to do it again next year! 🎉

Hopefully, bigger, better and even more impactful, while never losing the heart behind it:

To celebrate the women who care for others.
To remind them to care for themselves.
To empower them.
To support them.
And to let them know that they are never alone.

Until next year…

You are valued.
You are strong.
You are enough.
And the work you do matters. 💜

Happy Women’s Day from Child Welfare South Africa: White River! 🌸💜
