One more month left to see the Future Now exhibition at Dennis Johnson Library!

For this week’s , we’re taking a look at scenes of the Blacktown area from the 1950s and 1960s, captured through the lens of the late Carl Syme.

These fascinating photographs offer a glimpse into Blacktown’s past and how our community has changed over the decades.

Celebrating Refugee Week through stories, culture and community.

On Saturday, we partnered with SydWest Multicultural Services, ABA Sydney, and members of the local Nepalese and Bhutanese communities to host a special Refugee Week event at Max Webber Library.

More than 60 community members attended the launch of a new novel by Bhutanese refugee and former ABA Sydney President, Padam Kafley. Written in Nepali, the book shares a powerful story of displacement, resilience and building a new life in Australia.

The event featured an insightful panel discussion, an author interview, audience Q&A, and opportunities for community connection over light refreshments.

We are proud to support our diverse community through collections in Nepali and many other community languages. Events like this highlight the valuable contributions refugees make to our society and the rich cultural diversity that strengthens our community.
