🎃👻 BOO-RWOOD POLICE - SOMETHING SPOOKY IS PATROLLING OUR STREETS! 🚔

We’ve got a bone to pick with whoever approved these two for a ride-along! 💀😂

Our officers have picked up a couple of unusual passengers, and we’re already seeing some red flags…

💀 One has a permanent grin.
🧟 The other looks a little green around the gills.
🚔 Neither seems particularly interested in getting out of the police car.
👮 And we’re still trying to work out who’s responsible for the BOO-king!

They might look frightening, but the real horror would be forgetting your Halloween safety!

Before you head out tonight, here are some spook-tacular crime prevention tips:

🍬 TRICK OR TREAT, WATCH YOUR FEET!
Keep little monsters supervised, use pedestrian crossings and remind children to look both ways. Don’t let a sweet night turn sour!

🚗 NO FRIGHTS BEHIND THE WHEEL!
Drivers, slow down in residential streets and watch for little ghosts and goblins appearing between parked cars. The only jump scares tonight should be intentional!

🔒 DON’T GIVE BURGLARS A GHOST OF A CHANCE!
Heading out? Lock your doors, secure your valuables and leave an outside light on. Don’t make your home a treat for thieves!

🏠 NO TRICKS ON UNWILLING HOMES!
Not everyone celebrates Halloween. Look for decorations or welcoming signs, and respect homes that aren’t participating.

👻 SOMETHING SUSPICIOUS?
If something doesn’t seem right, contact police on 131 444. For emergencies or crimes in progress, call Triple Zero (000).

We’ll be keeping an eye on things across the command tonight, making sure Halloween remains a treat for everyone.

And remember - the only thing you should be stealing tonight is the show! 🎃

Happy Halloween from Burwood Police Area Command! 💙🚔

🏅 COURAGE UNDER FIRE | NATIONAL POLICE BRAVERY AWARD 🇦🇺👮‍♂️

From Nepal to NSW Police, and now recognised on the national stage for extraordinary bravery.

Burwood Police Area Command is incredibly proud to congratulate Senior Constable Bikash Bharati, who was presented with a National Police Bravery Award by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.

The ceremony was also attended by the Hon. Tony Burke MP.

🚨 COURAGE IN THE FACE OF DANGER

On the evening of 5 October 2025, police responded to reports of a shooting on Georges River Road, Croydon Park.

Among the first officers to arrive was Senior Constable Bharati, accompanied by a junior probationary constable.

Despite coming under gunfire, Senior Constable Bharati demonstrated remarkable courage, immediately directing his junior colleague to safety before attempting to render life-saving assistance to an injured civilian trapped inside a vehicle.

With the threat still unfolding, he continued assisting the victim until directed to seek cover.

His actions that evening demonstrated exceptional bravery, leadership and an unwavering commitment to protecting life.

🇳🇵 FROM NEPAL TO NATIONAL RECOGNITION

Having arrived in Australia from Nepal in 2015, Senior Constable Bharati reflected on his journey during his acceptance speech:

“As an immigrant, I came here seeking opportunity, safety and a better future for my family and I. I never imagined that one day I would have the privilege of serving the community of New South Wales as a police officer.”

He also humbly acknowledged the colleagues who stood beside him that evening, emphasising that policing is never an individual effort.

💙 A MOMENT OF PRIDE FOR BURWOOD

Senior Constable Bharati’s actions represent the very best of policing - courage when confronted with danger, compassion for those in need and leadership when it matters most.

From the streets of Croydon Park to the national stage in Canberra, his bravery has earned recognition at the highest level.

👏 Please join us in congratulating Senior Constable Bikash Bharati on this outstanding and well-deserved honour.

A remarkable officer. An extraordinary act of courage. A proud moment for Burwood Police Area Command.
