📣 Rezoning: Last chance to have your say!

With submissions closing this Friday 30 October, Mayor Sarah Dixson has a simple message for our community: your voice matters. The NSW Government's draft rezoning proposal will bring significant changes to Woollahra and Edgecliff, and it's important that local residents have their say. Your submission doesn't need to be long. Just share what matters most to you and your neighbourhood.

"There is not one dollar committed for roads, schools, or health care," Mayor Dixson warns. These are real concerns for the people who live, work and raise families here. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has come along to our meetings, asked questions, spoken up and stood together for our community.

📣 Have your say before 5pm Friday 30 October. Submit your feedback to the NSW Government via the link below:

🐦 H5 Bird Flu in NSW: What you need to know

H5 bird flu mainly affects birds, including pet birds and backyard poultry. If you spot a sick or dead bird or marine mammal, don't touch it. Note the location, date and time, and report it to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888. Early reporting helps protect our wildlife and community.

The current risk to people is low, but it's important to take precautions to protect yourself, your pets and our local wildlife. Avoid contact with sick or dead birds and wildlife, keep cats contained and dogs on a leash around wildlife.

NSW Government announces more than $2 million in funding to strengthen community connection and wellbeing in Bondi and Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Applications are now open for the Bondi Community Cohesion and Wellbeing Grants Package, supporting local initiatives that bring people together, strengthen community connections and promote wellbeing following the Bondi Beach terror attack.

We've already seen the positive impact that community-led initiatives can have. Organisations like , which empowers children and families through volunteering and acts of kindness, are a wonderful example of how generosity, connection and giving back can strengthen our community.

Funding includes grants of $1,000 to $10,000 for individuals and grassroots groups, and $50,000 to $150,000 for community organisations and not-for-profits. Projects could include community events, workshops, wellbeing programs and activities that help people connect.

📅 Applications close:
• Friday 30 October, 5pm – Grassroots Microgrants ($1,000–$10,000)
• Friday 6 November, 5pm – Community organisation and not-for-profit grants ($50,000–$150,000)

🚦 NSW Government's draft rezoning plan: More homes. More traffic. Where's the infrastructure?

The NSW Government's rezoning plan proposes 9,400 new homes across Woollahra and Edgecliff, but no new roads or bus routes, and an unfunded train station. With an additional 21,000 residents expected, our already busy roads will be more congested.

Our community deserves a better plan for the future, not more gridlock. With submissions closing on Friday 30 October 2026, time is running out to have your say and help protect the liveability of our neighbourhoods.

📣 Make a submission before 5pm Friday 30 October. Speak up. Have your say! - link below:

🎨 Celebrating the life and legacy of Pixie O’Harris.

Cr Julian Parmegiani represented the Mayor Sarah Dixson yesterday at the unveiling of a commemorative plaque on Hopetoun Avenue, Vaucluse, honouring beloved Australian children's author, illustrator and muralist Pixie O’Harris. A pioneer of Australian children's literature, Pixie created more than 20 illustrated books and brought joy to generations of children through her enchanting murals in hospitals, schools and community spaces.

We were delighted to be joined by guest speaker Guy Tranter, Pixie's daughter Halcyon Evans, who nominated the plaque, her family and Council and staff. Pixie's remarkable creative legacy lives on, and we're proud to recognise her special connection to our local community.

🚨‼️ New location for this Sunday’s Save Victoria Barracks Rally!

Join us this Sunday at Kippax Lake, Moore Park, to help send a clear and united message.

“Victoria Barracks is one of the most significant heritage sites in New South Wales and any considerations for future use must carefully reference its history and public benefit potential with the opportunity for real community engagement. The site should not be sold off in a bid to boost the nation's defence treasure chest. Our history is not for sale," - Woollahra Mayor Sarah Dixon.

We must stand together to preserve this iconic landmark for future generations.

📅 Date: Sunday 25 October 2026
🕐 Time: From 12.45pm
📍 New location: Kippax Lake, Moore Park.

Proudly supported by Woollahra Council.
