It sounds like Johnston Street is the place to be this Saturday!

LOJO Festival brings together local venues, traders, musicians and creatives for a day-and-night programme of food, drinks, music, shopping and spooky surprises for young and old alike.

We popped down for a chat with Johnston Street traders Jon-Lee from Lulie Tavern and Lauren from Ricordino handmade prints & ceramics about what to expect, what they're planning for the day, and why events like LOJO are a great way to support our local businesses.

🕙 10am to late
📍 Johnston Street, Abbotsford ➡️ Fitzroy

Head to Lower Johnston Street District or check out lojo.com.au to see a full list of participating venues and more details on what they're planning.

LOJO Festival 2026 is proudly supported by the Yarra City Council 👋 Quick Response Grants Program.

Today we celebrated Children's Week at Collingwood Town Hall with our wonderful children, parents and staff.

This week is a national celebration recognising the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.

Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion.

Thanks to everyone for joining us ❤️

Pirates are officially in this Halloween ☠️🎃

We popped down to Rose Chong Costumes with Cr Edward Crossland to see what costumes are currently trending this year.

Rose and the incredible team have been proudly serving the Fitzroy community and beyond for decades. They're so popular they only operate via appointments only - if you know you know!

Our flags at all Council buildings are at half-mast today in remembrance of Dr Tim Read.

The State Memorial Service to honour his life will be held at 3.30pm this afternoon at Melbourne Town Hall.

Elected in 2018 as the State Member for Brunswick, the MP and former GP will be remembered by many in our community for his work as the State representative for Yarra residents in Princes Hill, Carlton North and Fitzroy North.

We once again thank Tim for his service to Yarra and politics in Victoria. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

For more details on today's service including live stream details visit:
