Not sure what to do with used cooking oil?

Pouring it down the sink may block your pipes, and wiping it up with paper towels uses a lot of kitchen paper. How about turning waste oil into soap for household cleaning purpose?

On 12 November, we will recycle "used" cooking oil for making soap. Join our Community Soap Project for inspiration!

What is Community Soap Project?
We gather like-minded neighbours to make soap and other DIY cleaning products together. We share the materials cost, skills and experience, and we experiment together through trials and errors.

We are excited to share that renovations are underway on “The Factory,” the much-loved community hall in North Richmond that we have operated for many decades. The Factory is getting a brand new roof, improved flooring and important structural upgrades to make it safe for years to come. The Factory will also receive two brand-new toilets and a beautiful custom-built kitchen courtesy of Salta. Thanks to our amazing project team from Homes Victoria and to our indefatigable President Karen Hovenga who is volunteering her time and expertise to lead this project for us ❤️❤️ dream team! Generously funded by Homes Victoria. Stay tuned for more updates on this very exciting project!
