🏕️ Year 9 Camp | Day 1 at Camp Rumbug!

Our Year 9s have hit the ground running! Students started the day learning how to navigate using a compass and pack and carry all their equipment for an overnight camp in the great outdoors.

They then set off on a trek that challenged them in all the best ways, building resilience, teamwork and confidence along the way. The rewards? Beautiful views, fun games and, of course, marshmallows roasted around the campfire! 🔥🍡

Everyone is having a fantastic time, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of camp brings! 🌿⛺️

Last week we held our first part of RICHMOND M.A.D.E, our Graduate Art exhibition at Seventh Gallery in Collingwood. As you can see the works were incredible and we are so proud of all the artists in the show. Special shout out goes to Athena Peh for winning the Principal’s award. Jona Magazzu for winning the Judges Award. And winning by a landslide, the People’s Choice award went to Harry Cayley.

Our annual Guard of Honour tradition to farewell our Year 12s after their final assembly took place today. Lots more to come about our Year 12s and the celebrations this week but just popping this one here as we shed a tear saying goodbye!

SAVE THE DATE! We absolutely adore this annual event and cannot wait to show you our Art Graduate Exhibition this year.

🏀 Year 7 Basketball today! 🏀

Some highlights included our amazing Year 11 coaches, the huge improvement (and a win! 🎉) from our girls’ team, coached by our very own Year 11 Jack, and the enthusiasm of all our students as they learnt how to score, played their best and cheered on their friends.

A great day of basketball, teamwork and school spirit! 🏀🙌

The show wrapped up last week but we are going to keep the good times rolling with all the amazing photos and videos from the show. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we celebrate all the cast and crew and all the hard work they put in to make such an amazing show. We are so lucky at RHS to have such amazing talent 🧡🧡🧡

Please join me in congratulating one of our amazing Year 10s. Kingsley won the Open 3000m race at regionals yesterday. Ned won boys 14yo shot put. Both students progress to states and we couldn’t be prouder. Great job!

And that’s a wrap! It’s so hard to believe our 2026 school production is over. Stay tuned for many more photos and videos next week. We didn’t want to give anything away to our THREE SOLD OUT SHOWS this week so we’ve been quiet on the socials about how well it went. We are so incredibly proud of our students, both cast and crew. Well done team! And a huge thank you to Liz, Dean and Tach - our amazing production staff. You three made the show amazing and we are so grateful for you for providing our talented RHS kids with such an amazing opportunity.

Yesterday, our Year 7 ECP students took their Chinese learning beyond the classroom! They watched the Chinese film All Wishes Come True, then headed to Chinatown where they practised ordering food in Chinese and enjoyed a delicious Chinese lunch.
The day continued with a visit to an Asian supermarket, where students explored and sampled a variety of snacks from China and other Asian countries.
A fantastic day of learning Chinese through film, food and culture!
