From our principal, Andrea Thompson:
So proud of our incredible instrumental program. Last week’s ensemble soirée was pure joy - beautiful performances, infectious energy, and the most wonderful audience participation.
Huge credit to our talented students and their exceptional instrumental music teachers.

We were so pleased to welcome the Reverb team from the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) for a wellbeing incursion with our Year 8 students. Through engaging, peer-led workshops, students explored topics including mental health, wellbeing, help-seeking, and supporting one another. The sessions encouraged open and meaningful conversations, helping students build confidence, strengthen connections, and develop a greater understanding of the supports available to them and their peers.

This week is National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) 🖤❤️💛

This year’s theme is All In — a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, every day. Reconciliation is not something we watch from the sidelines. It is built through learning, listening, respect and action.

At Richmond High School, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and work, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise the importance of creating a school community grounded in respect, understanding and inclusion for all.

As a school community, we are committed to continuing the journey of reconciliation together.

Our Year 10 RHS boys recently participated in a Man Cave workshop, engaging in meaningful conversations around identity, empathy, communication and respectful relationships.

We were incredibly proud of the way our students represented themselves and our school throughout the program.

Programs like these play an important role in strengthening the respectful relationships work happening across our school community, helping students build greater self-awareness, connection and understanding of others.

A huge thank you to The Man Cave facilitators for creating such a positive and engaging experience for our students

Today is National Sorry Day, a day of remembrance, commemoration and truth-telling that honours the Stolen Generations.

It is a deeply painful part of Australia’s history. National Sorry Day asks us to acknowledge the trauma, grief and loss caused by government policies that forcibly removed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities, cultures and Country.

Our Athletics Carnival just keeps getting better and better. We had such an amazing day! It was so wonderful to see our students thrive in all the track and field events. Students had so much fun competing, cheering and getting involved in not just the events but all the other activities during the day. A really big shout out to our Year 9 Entrepreneurial projects for keeping us fed and hydrated for the day and an even bigger shout out to the PE team for putting the whole day together. The official winner for the day was Yurlendj - Blue House but we think in the end, everyone was a winner! 💙❤️💛💚
