RDA Oaklands Victoria We are a not for profit organisation that has been running for 43 years. We are now situated at 60 St Johns Rd Oaklands Junction 3428 Victoria Australia.

RDA Oaklands is a voluntary not-for-profit organisation which has been operating for forty three years in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. We aim to provide a Horse Riding experience for disabled people in a safe and pleasant environment, encouraging physical activity and social interaction. VOLUNTEERS

RDA Oaklands is always looking for new volunteers. We rely on our Volunteers in order to provide an effective service. There is no need for you to have any previous experience with either horses or children. All that is required is that you are willing to learn. We would encourage you to come down and have a look, so that you are able to get an idea of what RDA does. We operate on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday morning during school term. Of course, this all depends on the weather. Feel free to give someone a call if you are unsure or would like to talk to someone about RDA. All volunteers are required to have a Working With Children’s Check, which you can arrange at your local post office or online. Also a vaccination certificate with Booster will be required. Please remember to wear appropriate attire for being around horses, good sturdy shoes which are also comfortable for walking. SPONSORS

As a coach you wait patiently for days like today. We have worked with Lochlan all year to put a helmet on. Without causing him to be uncomfortable we have been calm & patient with him. Towards the end of term 3 this calmness developed & he was happy & regulated. Today the music table became his favourite activity & sitting quietly with dad & l at the dam. The helmet always came with us to try to put on when I thought the moment was right. We still did all the activities in the arena on the ground. Today was the day & towards the end of the session as you will see in the photos Lochlan allowed me to put the helmet on. A huge success, congratulations to this young man on this wonderful achievement. Perceiving & never rush your riders always makes for magical days like today. So proud 😊🐎👏
