Another busy day at Community House! ❤️
There’s never really a quiet day around here, and today was certainly no exception!
A little snapshot of what we got up to:
✅ Last day for Management Committee nominations.
❤️ A visit from a bloke doing it tough and sleeping rough. We were able to send him on his way with a swag, breakfast, a coffee and some food for his dog. A little help can make a big difference.
🍲 Over 100 meals cooked and a freezer full of food ready to go.
🎄 Christmas decorations out for sale in the Op Shop.
🎨 Mosaic class underway, with plenty of creativity and lots of chatter.
🤝 Our final get-together with the wonderful organisations who worked together to make our Community Anti-Poverty event happen. It was lovely to catch up and reflect on what we achieved together.
🚛 Helped a local widow get a load of rubbish to the dump. Sometimes it’s the little practical things that make life a bit easier for someone.
🎁 Bought Kylie an end-of-employment gift because we genuinely appreciate everything she does for Community House and our community. ❤️and all sat down and shared stories at smoko
🚪 66 individuals through our doors today.
🥪 A really big day serving our free food program, making sure people had access to food and a bit of support.
😃Big chat with Craig and Deb from Ungarra - lovely seeing Bill catch up and take a walk down memory lane.
🪵 And finally, the Men’s Shed have accepted the challenge to cut 2,000 bags of kindling before next winter! Now that’s a challenge we look forward to seeing them tackle!
From food support and practical help to social connection, creativity and community partnerships, it’s all happening at Community House.
Not every day is easy, and there’s certainly a lot happening behind the scenes, but days like this remind us why we do what we do.
Community House is about people, connection and lending a hand when it’s needed.
Thanks to everyone who contributes, volunteers, supports us and helps keep things moving.
