Open Your Home to a Japanese Exchange Student!
We're looking for wonderful host families for our upcoming Japanese student exchange — a long-standing tradition between Heathcote High and the schools of Hitachiomiya Prefecture! Japanese students will be with us for 5 days, 4 nights from 17–21 August 2026, joining our students during school hours, taking part in excursions, and experiencing life with an Australian family after school.
💛 No separate room needed — just a warm welcome and somewhere to sleep!
💛 Host families will receive financial support.
If your family is interested, please see Mr Dorrington (Science) or Ms Roberts (English)
This is a truly special opportunity for your family and our students to build friendships and cross-cultural connections that last a lifetime. We'd love to hear from you! 🌏

Our clever and curious Stage 6 Chemistry students are investigating acids and bases this week using indicators.
Our laboratories come alive with hands on, real-time student experimentation, creating their own sample evidence in class time to support their structured written responses.
Our future scientists are building upon their solid foundations ready for their Trials next term.
Let’s go, 12 Chems.

Western Sydney University - Lunch & Learn
It was another fantastic turnout for our recent WSU Lunch & Learn session held earlier this term.
The high level of engagement from our students continues to impress us, as they asked thoughtful questions and enthusiastically explored university pathways, application processes, and future study opportunities.
Sessions like these provide valuable insights to support informed decision making and contributes to the success of our transition planning outcomes.

A message for parents and future HHS parents;
If your Year 10-11 child has their eyes set on university, it’s very important for you to be across the exclusive benefits of being enrolled with us at Heathcote High School.
Our unique connection to University of NSW’s Gateway Admissions Program is a game changer when it comes to setting your sights higher and the courses, adjusted ATARs, mentorship, scholarships and free tutoring that comes along with this.
Before you look anywhere else, run your eyes over the courses available below and have a conversation with our Senior Executive about how we can help your child. University is not out of reach.
We are currently taking enrolments in the Senior school and can offer additional benefits to this for those wishing to study both English Advanced and Advanced Mathematics. You just need to connect with us.
After seeing our incredible External Validation results, and with limited spaces available, it’s only a matter of time before the opportunity to join our senior classes closes.
Check out the adjusted ATARs of UNSW Courses here.

University of Wollongong - Lunch & Learn
It was standing room only for our senior students who enjoyed a session with the UOW: University of Wollongong, Australia, exploring Early Admission and tips for tackling selection criteria.
This was a great opportunity to learn about pathways beyond school and plan future study with confidence.
It was also wonderful to welcome back our very own HHS Alumni, Olivia Carroll, to help discuss the process with future undergraduates.

Woohoo! We’ve stepped ahead one more place. It’s just like a Thursday Morning belt around Heathcote East and Mr Barnes is dead ahead but he has no idea how hungry you are for Breakfast Club. Let’s go, Heathcote.

There are more than 122,000 Australians experiencing homelessness. Alarmingly, more than 58% of the homeless population is under the age of 35 and, more than 17,600 children under the age of 12 don’t have a stable place to call home. The face of homelessness in Australia has changed.
Together with Vinnies, we have the power to shape awareness and inspire action within our school and the wider community, whilst also helping to make a real difference in the lives of the 1 in 200 people experiencing homelessness every night in Australia.
We are aiming to raise $1,000 as a community. We are currently at $350. If you have anything to spare, click on the link below to donate to the cause.
If you have already donated, we extend a heartfelt thank you.
