Members here are impacted by the increase in domestic violence incidents and the rates of recidivism and lack of wrap around DV services in the Wollongong area.
Our CC members encourage other members to go to the DV campaign website to write to your local MP.
We are urging the NSW Government to fund a government-run Family Violence Service in Wollongong. DV services can no longer be purely the responsibility of non-government organisations.

Our PSA Organiser attended a meeting at the Homes NSW Ashfield office recently with some very engaged members, including dedicated workplace delegate Felix Edian (bottom right).
A lot of the conversation centred around occupational safety, particularly out in the field when dealing with high needs clients.
βI hear the same concerns from members across the metro offices - they keep raising issues about the increasing complexity of clients and the lack of appropriate support from management to meet their needs. Management also don't often respond well when incidents occur, telling them simply to reach out to EAPs,β said the PSAβs Organiser.
βWe spoke about the new WHS Regulation and the focus on psychosocial hazards. Management has developed a Psychosocial Action Plan, indicating that there are risks around work overload and emotional demands. Members are keen to see how these will be adequately addressed in the workplace.β

Great to see LWB Disability Support Workers engaging with their union - the Community & Public Sector Union CPSU New South Wales.
"Education is power, and as an Organiser, itβs incredibly rewarding to see members feeling informed, confident, and empowered. Sharing updates on the benefits of membership and safe workplace practices really makes a difference," said CPSU NSW Organiser Alex Sala.
