๐National Simultaneous Storytime 2026๐
Today, many of our classes engaged in the reading of Luna Roo as part of National Simultaneous Storytime. Students across Australia read the same story at the same time today and Luna Roo was a huge hit!
We have been preparing for this event for weeks in the library and we celebrated at 2nd break with another reading from the authors of Luna Roo and a super fun scavenger hunt!

๐ฑ Exciting news for our school garden program! ๐ฑ
We are proud to share that our school was successful in receiving support through the Seeds to Success initiative by the Townsville City Council.
Seeds to Success supports primary school students to connect with nature through practical learning experiences in sustainable gardening and growing local food while reducing food waste.
Through this initiative, our students will have even more opportunities to develop hands-on skills in gardening, sustainability and caring for the environment.
We are so excited to continue growing our school garden and providing meaningful learning experiences for our students. ๐ฟ๐

๐The Willows Warriors Pre-Prep Transition Program๐
๐The Very Hungry Caterpillar ๐ was our book at Warriors this week. Ms Tannock read it to us. ๐ It is a beautiful picture book about a tiny caterpillar ๐ that hatches from an egg ๐ฅ and eats through lots of food over one week. ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐ฐ ๐ง ๐ฅ ๐ง ๐ฅ ๐ญ ๐ฅง๐ญ๐ง๐ ...... ๐ After growing large and suffering a stomach ache ๐คข, he spins a cocoon and turns into a beautiful butterfly ๐ฆ ๐.
๐We had lots of fun making cute caterpillars ๐and beautiful butterflies ๐ฆ in our room. We also welcomed a new little friend๐ฆ!
๐ซถWe are learning so much at Warriors!
See you all next week.

๐คChoral Workshop ๐ค
Twenty-two of our Year 5 and 6 Senior Choir students recently joined 153 students from local Townsville state primary schools for an incredible combined choir performance, led by guest conductor Kylie Los from Brisbane.
In just three short, very fun-filled days, they learnt six songs from memory and performed in both the Advanced and Massed Choirs. It was a fantastic and engaging experienceโfull of energy, new friendships, and growth in their singing skills.
They performed beautifully at the final concert, and we couldnโt be more proud of their effort and enthusiasm.
