We’re excited to see our Year 10 students starting their volunteering journeys with Chorus Fleet Cleaning in Kwinana and Native Plants WA at Rockingham Golf Course!

These opportunities are about so much more than volunteering. Our students are developing valuable soft employment skills, building confidence, practising communication and teamwork, and learning the importance of responsibility and working with others. By getting involved in the local community, our students are gaining real-world experience, trying new things, stepping outside their comfort zones and discovering what they can achieve.

We’re so proud of our students for giving it a go, getting involved and taking positive steps towards their future pathways and employment goals. A big thank you to both organisations for supporting our students and providing these valuable opportunities to learn, grow and contribute to the community!

Small steps, new experiences and big opportunities for the future!

Term 4: Farmer 8 Christmas Market 2026!

Our Year 8 students are busy preparing for their Christmas Market! This term, they are developing their own products while putting their learning into practice across Mathematics, English, HASS and Science.

In Mathematics, students are learning to measure ingredients, calculate costs and compare prices to identify the best shopping options. They are also cooking and testing their product prototypes, gathering information and preparing to present their fantastic ideas to school leadership.
Students are collecting feedback from potential customers and making decisions about what they would like to sell at their Christmas stalls. Through this exciting project, they are bringing together the knowledge and skills they have learned across all learning areas.

This week, our Character Strength focus is Humour! We have been creating funny face masks and sharing lots of laughter together. We have also enjoyed tasting some delicious bites of our product prototypes!

Learning, creating, collaborating and having fun — that's what Term 4 is all about!

Bring on the Christmas Market! We can't wait to share our students' wonderful creations with our school community!

Our year 11 students proudly planned and hosted Try A Sports Day this term, bringing students together for a fun and inclusive day of activities.

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers and businesses (Port Kennedy Lion's Club, OMG Decadent Donuts, visiting schools and our staff and students who made the day possible.

Even the weather was a win! It stayed cloudy and rain stayed away. We are incredibly proud of the students not just for what they achieved on the day, but for the weeks of preparation behind the scenes. They have definitely developed valuable soft skills along the way.

Cowan 7 – Term 3 Highlights!

What a fantastic Term 3 for Cowan 7!

Our students explored the concept of liveability, learning about what makes a place a great place to live and how we can care for our environment and communities.

One of our biggest highlights was our Liveable Islands Project, where students used Minecraft Education to design and build their very own islands! From homes and gardens to water sources and essential services, students demonstrated creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork as they brought their ideas to life.

We are so proud of the effort, imagination and independence our students demonstrated throughout this project.

Well done, Cowan 7!

Congratulations to our two Year 10 students, Levi and Lochlan who recently participated in the 2026 KIC iDIVERSITY Project alongside students from schools across the Kwinana Industries Council (KIC) Education Partnership.

Throughout the program, students developed valuable workplace and life skills through resume writing, interview preparation, teamwork activities and career exploration. They also gained hands-on experience through visits to the Construction Futures Centre in Belmont and CSBP Fertilisers, where they learned about a variety of career pathways and workplace opportunities.

As part of the program, students gave back to the community by volunteering with Perth NRM at Wells Park, Kwinana, assisting with tree planting and environmental conservation activities.

We are incredibly proud of the confidence, resilience and enthusiasm our students demonstrated throughout the program and the way they represented our school. Well done!
