Engagements in the Hague, The Netherlands - The Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) held its 2026 Annual Briefing for Members on 14 October 2026, providing a platform to explore the growing complexities of cross-border legal issues, jurisdictional challenges and the importance of international legal cooperation. H.E. Dr Alfredo Tjiurimo HENGARI participated in the briefing, reaffirming Namibia’s commitment to multilateralism and a rules-based international legal order.

In an exchange with Mr. Daniel Voorhoeve Deputy Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at the Dutch Foreign Ministry, discussions focused on advancing bilateral cooperation in green hydrogen and energy, agriculture, and the Women, Peace and Security agenda, particularly United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325.
Ambassador HENGARI also exchanged views with H.E. Vusi Madonsela, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to The Netherlands, on South–South cooperation, multilateralism, international justice and the importance of continued diplomatic coordination in The Hague.
From the HCCH to bilateral partnerships and international justice, these engagements reflect Namibia’s commitment to building meaningful partnerships, advancing shared priorities and strengthening its voice in multilateral diplomacy.
