NiGiNan Housing Ventures is an Indigenous led non-profit supportive housing agency. Ambrose Place will address two housing needs.

NiGiNan Housing Ventures is a non-profit company and registered charity that was formed to address the particular needs and requirements of aboriginal people living in Edmonton. Niginan’s first project, Ambrose Place was inspired by Ambrose Daniels who died from pneumonia while living on the streets of Edmonton. Using a housing first approach, it will provide housing and support services to homeless individuals and couples of aboriginal descent who have not been successfully housed in existing facilities. It will also provide safe affordable housing within a culturally sensitive environment primarily for individuals and couples of aboriginal ancestry who do not require supports. Niginan’s goals are to:

-House and keep people housed and to enable them to create a home for themselves;

-Improve the quality of life of the residents;

-Build community and to involve the residents in the development and management of their community

-Provide residents with a sense of control over their own lives

COMMUNITY DONATION REQUEST – RAFFLE & GIVEAWAY ITEMS

NiGiNan Housing Ventures is reaching out to our community, local businesses, and generous supporters for donations to help make our upcoming 3rd Annual Memorial Round Dance on November 20th 2026 a meaningful gathering of remembrance, culture, healing, and community connection.

We are currently seeking donations of items for our raffles, prize draws, and community giveaways!

Donation ideas include:

Gift cards and gift certificates
Gift baskets and self-care packages
Clothing, blankets, and household items
Electronics and small appliances
Artwork, handmade crafts, and cultural items
Products and services donated by local businesses
Prize packages and other new items suitable for giveaways
Every donation, big or small, helps us bring people together and create a memorable event honouring our loved ones.

We are grateful for the generosity of local businesses, community members, artists, and organizations who support Indigenous-led initiatives and community healing.

As a registered charitable organization, charitable donation receipts can be provided for eligible donations in accordance with CRA requirements.

On October 28, we had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from Monash University in Australia to our Pimatisiwin space to learn about NiGiNan Housing Ventures! 🌏

We were proud to share our Indigenous-led approach to supportive housing and the role that culture, community, and connection play in our work.

Thank you for visiting, sharing conversations, and taking an interest in the work we do. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect and exchange knowledge across communities and continents!

Today, NiGiNan Housing Ventures honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, their families, and the generations who continue to carry the impacts. We also recognize the strength of Indigenous communities and the ongoing work of healing.

We are grateful to our Wellness team for bringing residents and staff together on September 22 for a day of culture, reflection, and connection.🧡
