Today at the Upper Bound AI Conference, the Government of Canada and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) announced the appointment and renewal of 42 Canada CIFAR AI Chairs. The Government of Alberta has announced a $21M investment in the University of Alberta’s DEFENDS initiative, strengthening Alberta’s position as a national hub for defence, aerospace and dual-use innovation.
The funding will help connect researchers, industry and the Canadian Armed Forces to accelerate made-in-Alberta solutions with both military and civilian applications.
