Before you call it a night, remember to turn your clocks back one hour. While you’re at it, replace the batteries in your smoke and CO alarms where required, and give them a quick test.

Oh, and those empty Halloween candy wrappers? Don’t worry, we won’t judge; just save us a Reese's.

Another great example of local departments working together to support each other. Yesterday, Platoon 2 responded to Welland to assist in a trench rescue. The victim was removed from the 10m trench and transported out of the region by Orange. Great work!

Amazing teamwork between many different organizations to come to the rapid aid of someone in need. Great work, Niagara!

Not all rescues look the same 🚁🚒
This evening, Platoon 2 was dispatched to the Niagara Gorge following reports of a serious medical emergency near the wooden stairs.
NFFD Rescue crews, working alongside Niagara EMS and Niagara Parks Police, made their way to the patient and completed an on-scene assessment. Due to the patient’s condition, it was determined that an expedited extrication was required.
Rescue crews quickly coordinated with our partners at Niagara Helicopters, and within minutes the patient was airborne. The helicopter subsequently landed at the designated landing pad, where a transport ambulance was standing by to continue care.

A sincere thank you to Niagara EMS, Niagara Parks Police, Niagara Helicopters, and all personnel involved for their continued partnership, professionalism, and commitment to serving our community. 🚁🚑🚒

A heads-up if you use HWY 20 through Allanburg. The lift bridge will be closed daily Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 19:00, starting October 13th. The major repair work involves installing additional steel plates to strengthen the structural components of the 1930-built bridge. The work is expected to finish on November 11th.

Alternate Routes: Thorold Tunnel or the Townline Tunnel in Welland on Highway 58A (or Highway 58 / East Main Tunnel)

Station 6 would like to congratulate all of Niagara Falls’ newest career firefighters on their graduation following a gruelling 16-week training program!

An extra-special congratulations goes out to former Station 6 member Jarred Dumond. Jarred, we’re proud to have had you as part of the Station 6 family and wish you all the best as you begin this next chapter.
