A work in progress…Engimyri House upstairs windows are in the process of being replaced, by much needed weather-tight(water/wind), solid wood, brand new windows.
Brendan Eyjolfson, Westside Woodworks, a local Riverton “artisan carpenter-furniture maker” is currently building all (7) new windows. A few years ago, Brendan also constructed the beautiful Fagriskogur windows! His attention to detail, perfectionism and craftsmanship are to be applauded!
This is a big project and will take some time to complete. In future, IRHS will also replace the ground floor windows and doors, as our commitment to the preservation of this historic gem! 🍁🍂

“Fagriskogur Pest- Control Inspector” on this beautiful autumn day, looking for unwanted guests at this stately home! Apparently the householders did not come to the door…so, he decided to try another approach…but, no luck, oh well…home it is! We hope he left his “Card”!!!🧐🦚🌻🍁🎃

The back deck at Engimyri House is looking bright and fresh after receiving its wood sealer treatment! Thank you Jodi/ WKT Carpentry for a job well-done. It looks wonderful!
WKT built this beautiful deck last summer and IRHS/Icelandic River Heritage Sites opted to allow the wood “to cure” for one season before completing the treatment this summer! Many visitors have admired the backyard view of the Engimyri farm fields and the animals grazing from this vantage point!

Fine craftsmanship on the window and door frames of the Fagriskógur house by carpenter Brynjar “Benny” of Vinland Woodworking at Gimli.

The new front steps of the Fagriskógur house look great thanks to volunteer Wanda with her trusty paintbrush.
