Dietitians of Canada has submitted its Pre-Budget Consultation recommendations in advance of the 2026 federal budget.
Our submission highlights the critical role Registered Dietitians play in strengthening Canada’s health system and supporting sustainable food systems nationwide.
Our recommendations call on the federal government to:
1. Expand Canada Student Loan Forgiveness eligibility to include Registered Dietitians
2. Better integrate Registered Dietitians into the health workforce through future bilateral health agreements
3. Address household food insecurity through income policy
We remain committed to advocating for policies that support dietitians, improve access to nutrition care and advance healthier communities across Canada.
