Early Local Registration is now open for summer recreation programs at our Free Centres.
This City of Toronto program gives residents who live near Free Centres the chance to register one week ahead of general registration. It’s designed to improve access to programs, particularly in lower-income neighbourhoods, and ensure local communities can take part in activities close to home.

As you know its critical members pay housing charges on time. This avoids late fees and ensures the coop can pay its mortgage. If you fall behind rent bank may be an option for support. Take a look.

Grateful our MP Shaun Chen took the time to meet with us today. The Board of Directors and staff echoed the sentiment that rental assistance for coop housing is critical to many of our members and community. No surprise that Mr. Chen was very receptive and is dedicated to all residents.

I am proud to join Guyanese communities in Scarborough, across Toronto, and around the world in marking the 60th Anniversary of Guyana’s Independence.

This milestone is a powerful reminder of the resilience, sacrifice, and cultural strength of the Guyanese people, both in Guyana and throughout the diaspora.

Since independence in 1966, Guyana’s journey has been shaped by endurance, identity, and the ongoing pursuit of a more just and prosperous future.

I am honoured that my office will be recognizing this important milestone by hosting an event on June 15 here in Scarborough. Register at Guyana_60.eventbrite.ca.

I look forward to standing with the community as we mark 60 years of independence, pride, and collective strength.

I’d like to extend warm Eid Mubarak to Muslim families and communities in Scarborough–Rouge Park and across the city as they mark this important occasion.

May this Eid bring peace, joy, and time with loved ones, and may it continue to strengthen our shared bonds of community, solidarity, and belonging across our city. Wishing everyone celebrating a joyful and blessed Eid.

Edited to add: the issue has been identified and us being worked on. It is related to people letting grease go down their drains. Please be in touch with the office in writing.

Townhouse members, please see the email from staff and check your basement for flooding asap. It seems there is a City sewer backed up and we are waiting for the City to arrive and address it. Plumbers were also contacted and tried to repair.

Steps You Should Take:
Check your basement immediately.
If you are located in the southeast corner of the complex, please limit water use until further notice.
If your basement is flooded, prioritize safety first. Avoid contact with potentially contaminated water.
Submit a work order by email or hard copy so the office is aware of how your unit has been impacted.
Take photos for documentation purposes, as you may need them for tenant insurance claims.
Please help notify your neighbours.

More updates to be provided. Maintenance is also on the scene.
